Paint transfer like on that slider can usually be removed easily with a rag and some auto polishing compound.

In addition to giving me good protection a number of times on trails, my Bud Built sliders have saved me from people who cannot park as well. This most recent was after sitting at the airport for a week. It appears continued to drive in they knicked my front door (or someone else did it) where the slider ends. No note. WTF is wrong with people?

I also highly recommend the SEM Trim Black paint for any trim pieces as well as sliders. I use Rustoleum Epoxy black (too shiny but good epoxy) and then top coat with the SEM. A perfect color match.

I have those same white marks on my WK sliders in the same spot. Also a black mark on the edge of my garage door frame. My wife says she has no idea how that happened.

How much prep do you need to do with that SEM black? POR15 seems to peel off the bottom of my sliders after a year, probably because it’s really hard to get all the dirt and grime and remnants of fluid film off.

I just put paint prep solvent on, let dry, and painted. My last big mark was painted over last year and is still covered. Paint does not love sticking to powdercoat generally, but the expoy probably helps with that.

Question for those with the BB Rock Rails. They seem perfect for my application but one question. Do they protrude enough to protect against parking lot attacks? Anyone have pics? Thanks!!

I would say that is a definite maybe.

I suspect for many shopping carts that the lower shelf would be below the level of the slider and the basket would be above the level of the slider, thus offering no protection from a shopping cart.

For another vehicle opening their door, it again would be a major it depends. For a sedan? Probably. For an SUV or pickup, maybe not.

Yep. Talked to Bud, they are 9” from the frame, so that is 100% in the “it depends” category on the parking lot use case.

Not the rock rails, but I've got the BB angled sliders. They DEFINITELY dissuade from sedan doors. SUV/pickup doors are a crapshoot on ground clearance on the other vehicle.

Hard to tell from pics. I know angled is better, but 15.5” and kick out at 17.5” seems like quite the platform hanging out past the fenders. Whats your thoughts? I love the look of the rock rails, all tucked in beautifully, but now I’m leaning towards the all out slider. Go big or go home.

I did BB rock sliders w/kick out and diamond plate on top not angled up. Yup, the kick out is noticeable but my dogs really appreciate the wider step in the back. They are due for another application of bed liner to the diamond plate for more traction for the dogs. I do have some good scratches on the outer face and drag marks under side on them so they have done there job and then some. Most common save is the tree that I thought I cleared on a tight corner and the kick out warns me before I turn to soon. Thank you, Rob, Bud and crew.

Bud is working on lower control arm covers for the 200 but hasn't finished them yet. So every one with a 200 or LX needs two call him and say Hi and ask him
"How about now"? He will know exactly what you are referring to and he will laugh.

I'm glad I went with BB for sure. No ragrets (k'na sayin?). They definitely change the OEM look, but I'm ultimately a function over form guy (to a point) and they look nice IMO too.

After today on black bear pass at LCDC I'm glad i went bud built as well. They paid for themselves today with rocker damage prevention from taking a pretty big hit. So I can't speak to car doors in parking lots but they for sure protect 7000lb trucks when hitting rocks lol.
