After rebuilding 20 years ago and sitting for the last 4 years waiting for a spot on the list of things to do, being re-motivated with time and other projects completed.
Finally installed my lift earlier this year in my garage, there are some benefits to having time this year! Looking at some new options as I start taking things apart.

Had a little motivation as I worked along with Dad on his project! (waiting on wheels to come back from powder coating and door window track)

Yes, Dad's is really looking good! It will be like a brand new cruiser!

Definitely WON'T be purple, I liked the blue, but want something new...am thinking taking it back to the original 532 mustard when dad bought it new.

Wow Craig, that 40 looks great! Glad to hear your pop is still working on toyotas!

I think for yours, any color other than purple would be a good upgrade :hillbilly:
Brad asked if you still have the purple tub.

That's funny! Although as long as I have been around Land Cruisers, I might need LCA (Land Cruisers Anonymous).

Frame Stripped and off to sandblaster, waiting on its return. Springs striped to be blasted, that is the best one! Rears pressure washed and degreased.

While waiting on other things, Installed the rock rails after blasting and powder coating them. Glass beaded the rear calipers for the FJ & Scion and painted to install rebuild kits. Made new body mounts to replace the ones rusted off and made new rear cross member angle braces. Made new U-bolt plates, with skid plates this time.

Frame Cleaned up and Spring Hangers replaced. Riveted everything back together. The old rusty ones were hanging by a strand of rusty metal. Remade cross braces, all 4 body mounts on the frame and the spring hangers.

Frame primed and ready to paint, first 2 springs completely painted after sandblasting each ply. Axles up next.

Building new rear bumper to include lift and rear body mount to eliminate the rear spacer from before. Will have bumperettes mounted on here and a hitch receiver in the middle hanging below - that is off getting powder coated.
Anyone have straight bumperettes?

Craig you're making great progress! I think I have one bumperette will look today or tomorrow. Any reason why you didn't mount the lights right on the bumper itself?

Excellent! Thanks for checking Gary! Appreciate that as well Crusha!
They are part of the bumper, but I needed a support for the tire carrier so I used the box for the structure. The lights are part of the box. I need to get another better picture from the side. I would have left them in the frame since that was my original plan, but the carrier interfered.

Here are a few pictures of the bumper on the frame. The bumperettes will bolt in the original mounting holes through the bumper. A hitch receiver will bolt in the center holes.

This includes 2 1/2 inches of the 3 inch body lift for the rear mounts.
