Finished sealing the top and doors with Canvak yesterday.
Finished the perimeter weatherstrip on the doors and utilized what I saw on the corners of FST doors dad had that were original and had rubber left on them.

Used a strand of wire from a heavy electrical wire and twisted it and pinched it flat.

Also, washed it the first time since painted to get the dust off from time it took for assembly and the first year of nice day drives!

After driving the cruiser for the past year as I see in the last post here I have put some miles on it. Drives great, but still have a few things to finish up.
The AC was finally charged at the beginning of the month and have been enjoying the comfort of Air Conditioning. What a nice addition to the comfort! Would definitely put another Vintage Air in a FJ40!

Runs at a comfortable temp even with the softtop on, would be even better with a hard top! (still need to work on that so I can paint it.

@RWBeringer4x4 #comfort cruiser

Call me spoiled or whatever, AC is a top priority of mine in a trail rig. Or everything.

Can't believe I never added a/c before!
We were on vacation last week when it was so hot, I would have loved to see how it felt at 100 degrees and how well it cooled.
I do think that the canvas top is cooler than any besttop or kayline I had before.

I remember that when I had the Downey Toyota Kayline 1/2 cab on my ‘74 FJ40 the air conditioning was outstanding because of the cab being so small…

The a/c did extremely well with the hardtop but that 1/2 cab could freeze both of us, and that was 1976… Don’t know why I don’t have it in my truck now but…it’s coming
