1. found a locked 80 at a junker. whats a fair price for all the parts necessary to swap onto my unlocked lx? if i dont end up buying it, ill pass along the location of the junker, but for now, its all mine...

2. my sunroof has a weird problem and i did a search but nothing quite like mine. it opens fine. when it is closing, the drivers side rear corner of the sunroof will not tilt to be fully closed. also, when trying to tilt, only the passenger side tilts up. it all used to work fine, then it just stopped one day. ive been poking around but removing the headliner scares me ($$$). is there any way to access that little arm that raises the roof without dropping the headliner? and yes, ive tried to close it manually, but no luck... hopefully no rain until i can figure this out.

A yard years ago wanted 750 for a e-locker minitruck diff - rear. I would expect $1500 for the axle pair, or more, from the average yard. Buying both should give you a bit of price leverage. A less-saavy yard might be cheaper or they might need cash the day you show up.

Don't pay more than $800. My father got his set for just under that price.

As for the moon roof, I don't have much for you. If you have a '95-'97 pulling the headliner is nothing to be scared of. The worst part is the time it takes to pull the panels to get to the headliner. Best to have a helper when you drop it though.

don't say anyhting about the lockers to the yard.......

i'd pay up to 800 for new axles, say 600 and you give him your old ones

im thinking of just buying the whole rig. the leather is still perfect and it was rolled so hopefully i can get it pretty cheap. the market for high end import trucks out here is almost zero.

so nobody has had my sunroof problem?!?

No but we do have a sunroof problem so I "feel your pain" Ours leaks still and it sucks. I hate:mad: sunroofs.

My brother Rob has the same problem, we took the glass out and one side drive rail isn't connected to its cable. We couldn't get the drive rail out, so the whole assembly needs to come out to find the problem. For now we just pulled the drive rail into the closed position and reinstalled the glass.

I never had the problem on a cruiser, but on an old BMW that had the exact same symptom, it turned out to be a broken cable. Unfortunately, you will likely need to completely remove and disassemble the moon roof... at least I did to get to the cable. It was a PITA... a day of R&Ring roof parts to replace a $17 cable. Good luck.

I know that my cable isnt broken because its still moving in the track and it looks like the passenger side is pulling the whole roof, so it looks like what Tools R Us said. I guess I'll be dropping the headliner and just fixing it so its permanently closed. Thanks everyone.

You don't need to drop the headliner to close it. Just remove the glass (3 nuts on each side of the glass), move the drive rails to the closed position, put the glass back and remove the fuse or unplug the motor so stays in place.
