LAnce is working on that so we have something to present to potential sponsors.

not wanting to through a wet blanket but

not too sure how an alcohol producer is going to shine up to rock crawling at night to early am drinking & driving are usually a no no even on private land. the bad PR far out weighs the good besides the legal considerations

news headlines persons in 4x4 fall of mountain in Arkansas with broken purple haze bottles strewn over the crash site the Abita Brewery sponsors the event!

far too many post on threads to argue the point .

would be a field day for the press.

this is just a possible plausible scenario .

that being said hope they come on board

Paul, I see you point, but I do think there might be away around it. I think the club will have to buy the keg for $1 or something then donate it. I dont know but will worry about those issues when they jump onboard. Heck they may tell us to get lost!

Jonas if you need any help(which I doubt you do) I know the Blossmans and can assist if needed.

I believe the current climate to be a bipartipooperzan effort.

But i hope politics isn't a big focus of this group. I can get that anywhere.

Body damage by Abita shirt would be great for someone with an epic beer gut.

We need some Abita bulkhead mount bottle openers for contest prizes.... For bumper mounting but dont tell them that. . I have Cocacola in Thai script on mine.

What can we do for them?

As far as I know right now Trey only said yes to sponsoring our non-wheeling crawfish boil and not to any "getting behind the wheel" events. I am sure this is not the first time that he has been asked for a sponsorship of some sort and I am thinking that they will probably be more likely to spring for the crawfish or something like that rather than supply a sh!t ton of beer for people to load up on before hitting the trails. I presented this sponsorship as negotiable to them and that we would be open to listening to what they might be willing to do. I will keep you posted when I get some actual info from them. I will reiterate that all of this was agreed upon while drinking on Lundi Gras and no real details were discussed. Even if they are just willing to shell out for some grub at the Boil I think it is a success.:D

on a different note, here is a rough version of a Boil t-shirt design. My wife came up with this sometime back and I scanned it and loaded it into a paint program. It looks pretty cool with white lettering on the red/orange background and thought it might be worth throwing out there for consideration.

Deryl,

Any help you want to offer with this please don't hesitate. I have only met Trey at Jazz Fest on two different occasions . I arranged all of this through a good friend of mine who happens to also be very good friends with Trey. When I asked our mutual friend to facilitate the request he immediately picked up the phone and asked Trey for a sponsorship for our crawfish boil to which Trey said yes. That is where it ended. I was told to contact our mutual friend today by email with all of the information which I did and I got a text telling me he got it and would contact me soon. If you want to jump in and speak directly with any of the Blossmans to help this along I am all for it.

Ahh. Already got it covered, this is why I am asking for Kegs....No bottles strewn everywhere....Our legal team has already considered this!! :)

IMHO there`s nothing wrong with an adult doing anything they wish as long as they don`t abridge someone else.
that was the reassigning behind 18 yrs old and being of legal age you became the responsible one!

now with insurance companies ruling the free market they don`t want U doing anything that will cost them $$ Since cooperate America has deep pockets & insurance also have fortune tellers on staff to tell them what might or might not happen.
this coupled with the mintality that it is never MY fault!!!! that "THAT' happened to ME Iam gona SUE!
and no licensed looser is going to turn you away when U B knock-n at his door we have the current state of affairs we have.
Ya C cooperate America has become the parent & we the people the children legally incapable of knowing right from wrong. AKA sheeple

three words that would change the world

" I AM RESPONSIBLE "

Talking about banners... what about some sort of sticker for your gas cap? You know how you may see stuff showing "Premium Gas Only" or even just simplly "diesel" well expand on that with the "fueled by Abita" idea.

Not sure how many would want to put a sticker like that on their truck, or again any legal issues that would create, just an idea.

I might be your man for that T-shirt.

Jonas, tell Trey if he donates the crawfish for the boiul the club will buy Abita beer for the boil. That way he donated no beer and we can use the crawfish money for beer. Its a win-win.

Now your thinking with your dipstick!

Great Idea, and I think this was already along the lines of what he was thinking about as far as sponsoring the boil for us, but I have already sent two emails and I don't want to send another one until I hear something back. There is no point in counter offering if they are open to the first offers. I was very clear that we were open to any generosity that they wanted to extend and we would match it accordingly. I just hope they never read this thread:doh:.
