Ok the date has been set for the 1st Annual LLK Family crawfish boil. This will be a family event and hopefully a fun event for everyone. Here are a couple ideas I have to start a little mud slinging. I'm open for ideas!

1. Crawfish cooking contest
-----teams of 2 to 4 compete for bragging rights and maybe a cash prize.
2. Family oriented games that require families to compete together against other families.

There is a beach and water park available to the kids. We also need ideas how to keep the wives happy because they are not as crazy about these cruisers as we are and we want this to be fun for all.

Also Lance and I will be camping friday and saturday nights at the park and welcome anyone to join us. Our kids will be there also and we plan on having a movie night for them saturday night. We are in sites 74 and 77 in the new section.

Place: Fountain Bleu State Park, Mandeville
Date May19th
Time ?????9am

Guys, this will definitely be a family type event. Bring some ideas to the table for this. We will need help to pull this off.

*We will need help cooking.....that's where the contest comes in to play. Who can cook the best crawfish?
*"My little ones don't eat crawfish!" Well, we can do BBQ burgers and dogs for those that don't do craw-dads.
*The water park is one of those areas where the water squirts out of the ground and through objects. The kids will enjoy it especially if its a hot day.
*We may need some / all of you to bring canopies if you have them. Definitely bring chairs.
*Music.....anyone have a "system" we can use?
*The 19th is a Sat. Make a weekend of it if you can.

Food for thought......

I asked Sandy about the NS4x4 event we had at Fountainbleau last year and her impressions, what she would have changed, etc. She suggested fans to cool everyone off, daquiri's (anyone got a connection for those) and live music. She also said don't make them (the :princess:) hang out in the hottest part of the day.

I have a port-a cool and I can get to more from napa so no worries on fans.

Music I think can be as easy and a family friendly i pod and some external speakers.

I have a canopy but I do hope to use the pavilion.

I will get with Jason Hodges and put our ideas together and let everyone know what we come up with.

We will be asking for help with this so get ready!

J, sounds good let me know what you find out!

Also if we camp we'd like to be near the guys we know so which site is nearest Lance & Deryl's ?

Jean the club will be providing the crawfish but we might have a cash winner takes all pot! The sites ate the camp ground are 77 and 74 in the new section! If you are going to tent camp book 12 it is nice and wooded and not to far of a walk. Hope to see you there

I can supply cases of Corona in cans. Unfortunately, that's the only brand I have extra of at the moment. I have some Southern Comfort as well for you that need a strong drink.

as long as there's beer, food, and music i think everything else will fall into place. maybe we should get some entertainment for the kiddos. like a bouncy house or something. not sure if the park would let us do that though.

No bounce house they want us to have a million dollars in insurance and with Lance and beer there we might need it if we had a bounce house.

Hey guys,

What is the policy on bringing non members? I have a couple of reasons for asking. I would like to ask my wife's best friend and husband to join us and bring along their 2 young boys. reason 1 is because this will definitely get my wife to be more enthusiastic about club events. Reason 2 is because I am trying to convince her friends husband to buy an FJC and join our club. Reason 3 is beacause he is the general manager for all of the Bulldog Bar locations in Louisiana and Mississippi and I plan on hitting him up for club event sponsorship for events such as our crawfish boil. I would be happy to pitch in some extra money to cover the cost if I can't work the sponsership angle but over all it would make things easier for me if I could grease the wheel with an invitation. Let me know what you think?
