Gday guys, just curious what sort of fuel economy/litres per 100ks.. i filled up few weeks ago cant remember exact ks/fuel I put in but i worked out to get 8.1lts per 100ks.. filled up to the brim today of 56lts and i had done 443ks, which i worked out to be 7.9lts per 100ks.. does that seem right? 3in exhaust, 265 75/16 tires and roof rack.. pretty much stranded, still full time 4x4..

Am I correct in calculating that you're getting around 35mpg?

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to what's normal - but that's fantastic.

Im not sure on mpg.. but thats what i wanna know if its too good to be true but they are the numbers haha

I reckon you've done your calculations wrong, unless you've found a 443km downhill run.

Mine averaged around 15L/100km over months of tracking fuel use and mileage.

That was with a kitted out tuned up hdj80 with 33" or 35" tires, armour etc. and regularly ridden hard and put away wet

If yours is bog stock standard, on stock tires, no armour, and you drive like your grandmother you might get mileage close to 10L/100, but 10 is unlikely

Well they are the numbers.. filled up to the brim 56lts and drove 443ks since the last top up.. what are your calcs?

I'd recommend to post in the diesel forum.

I agree, there must be something wrong with your numbers. I only get 15-16L/100km in the city and my HDJ80 is part-time 4WD and 5 speed manual but with heavy armor and 33” tires. My fuel consumption is just a bit better, sometimes the same, as my VDJ200 and that thing is heavier but way faster than my HDJ80.

12.7L/100k=18.53mpg (If I did my calcs correctly)

I generally get 18mpg. when I'm on the highway and in the mood for 65mph then I get a tad over 20. I did a run through Nevada on the i80 doing a consistent 90 plus and got 13mpg. Considering the size of my rig with 35"tires a 4" lift and a RTT fully armored its not too shabby.

Mine is pretty much the same as this - 17mpg average, 12mpg if I push 80mph.

17-19 mpg (13.8-12.4 l/100km) on 33" tires is pretty average for me. Your corrected figures are very believable.

I'm getting 12l/100km, 33"tyres and sorta careful driving.
Your corrected maths sounds reasonable.

But your first numbers are still not off. My -94 1HD-T in a light car with manual 5speed does 1,04ltr/100km combined aggressive city/hwy and some Webasto, and down to 7ltr/100km hwy. But again, light car with stock size tires. The cruising speed is also important, around 70-80km/h it is ridiculously cheap.

My numbers on 35s are basically identical going 70-80 mph.
