How much is my wifes 1999 LX 470 worth with 155,000 miles.
We have done the maint, including a 2K change all fluids etc last year. The tires are Michelin with at least half the tread left. It is the Gold / Tan color.
Both exterior and interior are in excellent shape.
I did the Edmunds number, but I realize market value can differ from those numbers.

auction average w/ excessive mileage like that is around 15.5-16K

Are you saying that I need to find a wholeseller for the car, or is that price what I should try and sell the car for?
I would be happy with 15.5K for the car - does anyone want to buy it?

You could take it to a stealer, tell them you are considering buying a new vehicle, and ask what they would give you for it as a trade-in.

That should give you an idea of the actual wholesale value in your area.

(Just make sure to wear a raincoat, chastity belt with extra rear armor, hip wader boots, and a wallet-securing device. And try not to laugh or get offended while they try to fleece you, because that might affect their trade-in estimate.)

ask drsales if he wants it...

around here that might fetch closer to 12k. i saw a nice 99 LX with 107k traded in for 13k.

That's a dealership screwing someone, because that is defintely not what it's worth.

07/19/06 DALLAS $13,400 123,500 Below BLACK 8G A
07/19/06 DALLAS $13,950 125,008 Below GRAY 8G A

There's the latest Dallas sales at auction, with significantly higher mileage.

Car is officially for sale. I'm not sure what an "asking" price should be yet, but I have a goal of getting 15K for the car.

What do you think?

You need to post your location, and some pics. The mods will probably move this to the For Sale section too.
