I am listing this for my mechanic. He is a certified Toyota Master Mechanic and has his own shop in Portland, Maine. He purchased this 80 Series in 2015. It was completely stock and he added all the below listed modifications.

Here is the ebay link:

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 Collector Edition

This Land Cruiser originated in California and was purchased near the end of 1997. It remained on the West Coast until 2000 where it then moved to Florida and lived until 2004. At that point, it became a New England Land Cruiser driving the roads in Massachusetts and New York through 2011 and from then on it was officially in Vacationland and owned by Chris Parry, Certified Master Toyota Mechanic and owner of Parry Motors.

A 3-inch Old Man Emu lift kit was installed and is comprised of the following:

  • Front Coil Springs (One Pair)

  • Rear Coil Springs (One Pair)

  • Front Nitrocharger Sport Shock (Two Shocks)

  • Rear Nitrocharger Sport Shock (Two Shocks)

  • Steering Damper

  • Castor Correction Kit

Other upgrades include ARB’s winch bumper and steel roof basket, Hella’s 100 watt driving lights, Warn’s M8000 winch with control, Hi-Lift’s heavy-duty jack and nearly new 265/75/16 Firestone Destination M/T treads. Also included (and not installed) is a Safari Snorkel in its unopened packaging with all included installation hardware.

As detailed in the photos there are some small dings and scratches on the exterior of this FZJ80. The most notable imperfections on the exterior is a dent on the rear, passenger side pillar, a section of rust at the bottom of the driver’s side rear door and a cracked passenger side lower mirror. The mirror is still functional and adjusts to all positions with ease. There are also some scratches on the rear bumper and a shallow dent under the driver’s side mirror. The Moonglow Pearl finish still shines well with no signs of peeling or bubbling rust. All original trim, emblems, mud flaps and flares are still intact.

Interior finishes are also still intact and remain in good condition. The dash pad is free from cracks and all panels are original to the Land Cruiser. There are some sections of wear, which includes the faux wood grain veneer surrounding the driver’s door controls and some decay around the climate control. The driver’s seat also has some cracking and worn sections in the leather upholstery. Slight staining can be found at the lower quarters of the door panels but nothing out of the ordinary. There is a small tear at the bottom of the left, rear door panel. WeatherTech floor mats protect stock carpeting in all sections of the cabin. Third row seating is also still installed and functions properly.

Interior electronics all function including dash gauges, climate control, aftermarket Alpine head unit, windows, locks and center locking differential control. There is a multi-function CB Radio with antenna installed and in working order. The only non-functioning component is the main AM/FM radio antenna; the radio still receives signal, but the antenna itself in not in working order.

The chassis and mechanical sides to the FZJ80 are in good order. The radiator, A/C condenser, hoses and belts were all recently replaced with OEM parts. The front hubs were rebuilt as well as recent brake work and fluids all around. The frame has been treated since it was brought to Maine with FluidFilm and rarely driven in the winter. The corrosion seen in the photos is merely superficial and in no way hindering structural integrity.

Clean Carfax is available.

Love the Moonglow color, and love the single stage paint on the Collector's Edition. Never knew they made the CE in anything but black and white. Too bad it's spent so much time in the salt.

Only the second collectors edition I've ever seen in moon glow pearl. Nice truck.

If this were a REAL collectors edition:
1. the Toyota badges would be smoked, both front and rear.
2. The rear lift gate "land cruiser" plastic would be smoked across the entire width
3. The side "collectors" badges would be applied at the proper location (perhaps they are and my eyes are playing tricks)
4. The D rings on the factory wheels would be painted as on a 40th, which we have no way of veridying because these wheels have been plasti-dipped, which is also a nice way of concealing salt corrosion on the wheels.
5. The original window sticker also lists this optional package when it was actually factory installed.
6. Collectors Edition floor mats

Otherwise a nice looking 80 given its geography. My favorite color of all time on cruisers and a very nice interior.

GLWS

PS I have never seen an actual moonglow Collectors, but I would be delighted to see one if it exist.

1. Your "knowledge" is appreciated.

2. This is a Collectors Edition.

3. The Badges are in the correct place (not sure if you're implying that these were stuck on there to trick people)

4. The wheels were powder-coated, not plasti-dipped.

5. If you read the ad, you'd see it originated in California. It is not a "typical" New England Land Cruiser taken over by rust.

6. You're eyes are playing tricks on you.

Not trying to be too harsh here, but I need to correct incorrect statements to assure someone not familiar with these vehicles, who sees your post, question the seller's integrity and then deem my listing incorrect. I am also protecting the owner's investment as he spent a lot of time and money on the build and is incredibly knowledgeable about Land Cruisers in general.

I had a Collector Edition in Desert Dune Pearl. Also any Regular Land Cruisers produced after August 1997 was called Collector's Editions.

I get what you're saying.

The shadowline emblems on the hatch seems like were swapped for the OE ones - reason I say is OP's post #5, pic #2 shows the hatch got resprayed.

The VIN/Koyo tag on the lower L is oversprayed.

Based on the ??? of the 4WD emblem color & the lack of the tailgate latch operation sticker, I'd look at the tailgate for being resprayed too.

Whatever it is, it seems decent.

You guys crack me up. This is obviously a super nice truck. Because it is in Maine, none of the maintenance and upgrades happened? Surprised at the bids? The bids on this are low so far, just over 10K. If he gets less than 18K he should keep it.

View attachment 1656052 Like the color but not the rust. Higher price could be commanded if this was all taken care of before a sale. GLWS

There’s a reason I included close-ups of specific areas. Yes, there is rust on the lower quarter of the truck, specifically the driver’s side directly under the left-hand rear door as notated in the ad.

Over 100 detailed photos are on my website as well:

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Collector's Edition (FZJ80) - NICANORTH

Not trying to sell an unused timepiece here. This is a mechanically sound, modified 80 Series Land Cruiser meant to drive on and off road. It’s not going to rot away on you.

As I stated, this is being sold by my mechanic. I’m just helping him Find someone who will appreciate it. In the end, it’s his call what is sells for.
