1997 Lexus LX450 210,xxx miles - $6,000 -

About the only trade I'd be interested in is a 1st gen 4 runner or an FJ60

Factory E-Lockers

o U.S. Wheel 70-6860 - U.S. Wheel 70 Series White 8-Spoke Wheels

Body and Interior

o Front fenders cut to fit tires, edge redone w/ angle iron inner fender redone to all look stock
o Rear fender openings cut, flanged over and welded
o Lower body lined w/ Durabak – Olive Drab
o Started to paint Flat Olive Drab Green – Magic Paint – Hood, Roof and tailgate need finished,
and the RR quarter really should be redone
o Interior floor lined w/ Durabak
o Additional sound deadening on floor and roof
o Cloth seats, door panels, headliner, carpet out of ’94 Land Cruiser

Front Suspension

o J-Springs
o 1-3/8” Spring spacers

o Swaybar Disconnect brackets
o Stainless Steel Extended Brake Lines

Rear Suspension

o Reinforced trailing arm mounts at frame

Front Bumper

o 2”OD tube

Rear Bumper

o Custom owner built based on flipped factory hitch
o 3/16” plate w/ ¼” plate top
o Exhaust exits through bumper
o Receiver hitch w/ front accessable pin - but receiver is completely protected

Exhaust

o Magnaflow 3 way spun catalytic converter
o New O2 Sensors @ about 175K miles
o Mandrel bent tubing over frame
o Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler
o One weak point is it has some flex tubing in part of the exhaust which works, but would be better if replaced with solid exhaust tube.

Sliders

o Owner built rotating sliders
o Out-riggers are 2”x2” x ¼” wall tube
o Main body is a trapezoid shape of 6”, 3”, 3” and 2” x 3/16” plate
o Slides over rocks easier than tube sliders, and gives maximum clearance
o In down position they are lower than step sliders, and provide a great step in . Makes getting into tall truck
really easy - easier than my friends Tacoma w/ 3" of lift!

Custom skid plate
o Extends to sliders at center mounting point.
o Even with bottom of frame except at t-case where it slopes down to clear
o Reinforced w/ tubing

1” Body Lift

Dual battery set-up w/ relocated washer bottle

EGR Valve and VSV replaced 2 years ago

All 4 brake rotors replaced @ 165,000 miles

Front end rebuild @210,000

New 100 Series Pads @210,000

Issues

• Rear defroster doesn’t work - the wire that attaches to the glass is busted
• Rear wiper doesn't work - have not diagnosed why
• Dome lights don't work - have not diagnosed why
• Power attenna needs to be replaced
• ABS light is on, pretty sure it's just front wheel sensor

I bought this truck with 163,000 Miles and it was a one owner truck. I’ve had it for 6 years and have simply become bored having the same truck for so many years. No known mechanical issues, and the truck drives good down the hwy at 75+. Still rides comfortably despite its height and 37” wheels. Off-road with the lockers and long travel suspension the truck is simply amazing. Locked 80’s are good, 37” tires and 14” travel shocks take this truck to a higher level. It has been used for it's intended purpose on the rare occasions I have time.

Got an 85 4runner looking to part with...

Bump - going to be taking it to the Green Country Crusier Fall Picnic this next weekend. Should get some nice trail shots of it then. In the meantime - bump! Open to offers folks!

decided I'd take a 60 in trade (60 only, no 62 slush boxes)

Thought I had it sold - but alas, still have it - Taking offers at this point cause I think I found something else I want.

Has it, uh, been smoked in? great looking truck for the $

yep, for the money I think a person would be hard pressed to find another this capable. Lots of "watchers" on e-bay - we'll see if someone actually makes a decient bid- sure they're all waiting for that last minute rush.

well, ebay was a bust - anyone wanna low ball me before I resign myself to selling my other car?

took her out saturday to get some decient flex shots

Sorry to hear ebay didn't work out. I know this does mean anything really, but if I didn't have my FJC (including her hefty monthly payment) and had the money, I would be all over this thing. Good luck!

I really wanted to bid on it but wasn't comfortable bidding sight unseen...and I know nothing about 80's...and it would probably mean selling my 4runner at some point after that...and it's a long trip to check it out from columbia, mo...Good luck! i'll keep mulling it over in my mind.

Thanks Capt Sensible - just a bad time to be selling toys right now I guess - so like I said, my Passat may have to go bye bye and this will no longer be a toy but a daily driver. It's funny how many people ask about it's road worthyness - I've never thought twice about it since it almost always has been a daily driver and never thought twice about doing a couple hours on the hwy with it. Guess everyone assumes if it's not all still factory paint and it's this modified for off-road, that it's got to be unroadworthy. The 80 series platform is really great. I mean a truck on 37's, w/ lockers, still has a stereo, a/c, cruise, and still runs down the road straight and handels good. Just don't see many other platforms that can do that without spending a shipload of money on them. Just is 6+ years of the same vehicle is a bit much for me I guess. I want to go back to the click click of shifting gears too - which is against my pragmatic side that says an auto is infinately easier to drive off-road - but hey, can't be logical all the time (my ears aren't pointy enough).

Shawner2713 - shame you weren't at the fall crawl - could have looked at it then. If you know any of the GCC guys I'm sure they'd be willing to evaluate the truck for you - or if you're really serious could maybe meet in Springfield or something. I can take as many photos or walk around vids as you want to get a feel for if you're serious or not - just let me know. Truck's biggest weak point at this point is the appearance. I keep it any longer and the whole thing is going to be bedlined - so much easier than doing paint, and so much less worry around branches. Probably should have just gone ahead and done that when I did the lowers, but I just couldn't commit myself to it.

This is true. When I first looked at 80's there was one with a 6" lift on 37's for $10K and I wouldn't touch it because I didn't want to go down the 'too built' road again.

And of course I have 37's now. An 80 on 37's is easily as streetable as a typical Jeep on 33's. If you are interested take a drive, and GLWS
