Yes and no....I think the family would be happy wheeling in an 80, not that there is much time for that. I sold the DD 80 for a 4runner b/c it get damn near twice the mileage of my old 80 even with the V8. My 40 would even be presmog for you.

I'm sort of in a similar spot. Love my rig, but kicking around the idea of going in a different direction. Like you said, if the right deal comes along, great, if not, .

I have an '82 40, mostly stock, 2F, 4 speed, new lift (4.5" MAF), stock PS, disc brakes up front, Aussie locker in rear, Vintage A/C installed (but electrical needs to be hooked up). Kept in the garage, in good condition, almost no rust.

Like you, I don't know if I am looking to move, but open to taking a look. And I'm in San Diego (Escondido).

I have looked at a few rigs and am still not quite set on one. I have come to the conclusion I really need a very complete car, with no major rust, and I do like the SBC option in it.. I have gained a new appreciation for my 80 after going over it with a few cruiser-heads. I have plenty of ppwk and records on mine, can take more pics and could ad new tires to make things right if thats a reservation or deal sweetener for the right 40.
