Where can I get the recall info on my 1994?
I know there were some recalls but can't find any web site that show amy recalls.
Most sites say "no recalls"

There was only one and it was for the O2 sensors. It was probably completed. If you do not know if it was you can PM me the VIN and I will check for you.

I was told there was a steering recall on the land cruiser but I think the the person was thinking of the 4 runner or something like that.
Thanks Dan.

There is a current campaign to replace the center link in certain IFS trucks and 4Runners from the early 90's.

I checked my vin at a dealer in WI several years a go and the O2 sensors have been replaced.

Mr Toyoda went all out on the 80.
How many vehicles can say they don't have any safety recalls???

What model years were affected by that O2 sensor recall?

1993-94

No, the campaign follows the vehicle. Almost all of them have been done and it is a one-time repair. There may be a few vehicles that have not been done.

I have a 93 FJ80. Called the local Toyota Dealership. He says his schematic is terrible. He has two O2 sensors needed a left and right.

Part Numbers are: Denso Left 89465-69075

Had them look up history and they were changed out in the campaign at 40,337 miles by PO. I now have 192K miles. Do they need replacing? I have had it since 2008. Currently gets 15.8 to 16 on the highway. Thinking better to leave it alone. However, that is not good preventative maintenence.

Any other problems that can be taken care of by Toyota? Did they ever do anything for the Paint/clear coat issue that appears to plague 1993 landcruisers? That is just a hope and a prayer.

Thanks

Holy thread revival.....:)

It is due for new sensors. It is less expensive to buy them as a pair under part number 89465-60110.

You are on your own for paint. Most 22+ year-old vehicles have tired paint.

Yep --- the forum is great with this old stuff in the archives! Good for us "old" guys. Thanks for the part number - it is a bit less expensive. Will look to see how badly rusted it is to get them out! Getting used to the new forum.... haven't been on for awhile.

On the paint, I was just curious. My 93 Plymouth had a problem with the paint falling off --- I had heard it was a general problem for this era since they went from a 1 stage paint application to a 2 stage paint application (clear coat finish). Chrysler, in the early 2000 time-frame repainted my 1993 van at no charge (I was original owner, they contacted me). Was curious if Toyota had ever had a similar program. It seems prevalent on 1993s and there are 4 of us in town with the same issue with the clear coat falling off the hood and portion of the roof on our 1993 FJ80s. The paint underneath is OK. It was this way when I purchased it in 2008. If you don't ask, then you won't know. Should have asked 7 years ago. It isn't pretty, but it still runs great! I do not see any hope for the paint unless others have magic ways to remove the clear coat?

MR T did not have extended paint coverage.

C-Dan Do you still sell the o2 kit 89465-60110. Thanks!

I retired from the dealer parts world almost 5 years ago. That being said I can tell you that the 89465-60110 sensor set has been discontinued and is no longer available from Toyota.

I do have a spare NOS (New-Old-Stock) set that I bought for my 1993 80 when they were still available.

PM me if you are interested. They won't be cheap.
