Hi all, recently bought my first land cruiser and am seeking some advice with an issue I am having.

When the vehicle shifts into 2nd gear it limps and will not go over 1,500-1,700 RPMs
If you put the pedal to the floor, it will jump to 3rd for a quick second and then back to limping in 2nd.

Going from park to drive is a smooth shift, however when you go from park to reverse it slams occasionally.
Oddly, it randomly shifted and ran perfectly about a month ago for a few days then I went over some train tracks and it was back to shifting hard and limping in 2nd gear leading me to believe it has something to do with a connector or sensor ect...

I dont really know where to go from here any help or comments would be greatly appreciated

I would start with the shift solenoids.

what year it is?

first of all look at the AT oil if it is red like new whith no solide particals then most proboly it is not mechanical problem

then read the codes to do that you will need OD light that works

if you get a code on the solenoids then replace them all with Aisin Isuzu sol. do search the forum for part number it will save you a ton of $

replace all 4 solenoids and maybe the oil filter

The link that @voodu3 provided is helpful. If you haven't checked out the resources tab in the forum it has some excellent documents that you will need (Factory Service manual, electronic wiring diagrams etc). I also would want to read up on the shift solonids that @Broski mentioned. If you can work through some of the troubleshooting steps and post what you have found you will get a lot more help from the forum since you can steer them in the right direction.

Good luck!
