I am a vehicle importer (primarily from Japan), but recently decided to mix things up a bit and pulled in a container of 70 Series out of Dubai. The FZJ75 truck was reserved before it arrived and has moved on to its new owner, but as soon as I started driving the HZJ75 Troopy I knew that I'd be holding onto it for a while as a personal vehicle. I've already begun a lot of the maintenance work and upgrades and am slowly stockpiling parts. I figured this would be a good place to document everything, ask questions, and get much-needed advice. Here are some "before" photos. Originally an Aussie spec rig, it found its way to the UAE, where I sourced it from, and now resides in northern California. The odometer shows 106k kms and given the overall condition I believe that to be original. Rust is very minimal, and paint and body is pretty damn good for a 30-year-old Land Cruiser.

On the service side, since it came with no records, we did a minor baseline. Nothing so exciting as to merit photos.

-New Toyota timing belt
-New Toyota idler pulley and spring
-New Toyota camshaft oil seal
-New Toyota timing cover gasket

I love my new pickup! 😉 Thanks for being great to work with! Following this thread!
