Due to some over all lifestyle changes and the need for additional capital, I am in the process of changing up the vehicles I own. Plus I have vehicular ADD…I have also just listed my 2011 F250 for sale on the board.

I have sold a few vehicles on here and I hope that some folks on this board can speak for me and this cruiser. I'm sure I will regret this later…

The title pretty much speaks for itself and I am sure everyone is aware of what this vehicle is and the rarity. Relevant information is below, but please don’t hesitate to ask questions or contact me, however for the sake of this thread, please let's not turn this into an importation discussion. The vehicle is here and registered, please appreciate it for what it is.

Summary:

This is an awesome cruiser - everything works as it should or better, it always starts up (preheat light works), runs strong and is a blast to drive. I drove it ~1,500 miles from NC to CO and then took it to Moab for CM. As you can see there has been a lot of work done on it by reputable shops and has great aftermarket improvements. I believe that some of the guys in ONSC and others can vouch for this cruiser. I have been able to source parts with a little bit of effort and have contacts to pass along. Unfortunately, given the current situation is CO, I just wanted to say there is no flood damage.

Hi Wayne - I have always loved that rig!

Thanks for the offer, though I don't think I could swing that right now.

bummer, i have lusted after a troopie since i drove one a few years back.
so practical for my near future life style.

I am resisting eBay because I would really like to see this rig go to an enthusiast on the forums! It is a 70 series troopie...it really should go to someone who appreciates what it is!

Thanks for all the interest so far and I'm motivated to make a deal with someone. I am currently open to cash, partial trade + cash or straight trade.

If you have been contemplating something, now is the time to send an offer!

Wayne, I sent you a pm.

last hijack ...
further temptation, the 70 in action.
lockers unlocked through out.
turbo comes into play.

the capable 100 series was trying to get up the muddy, rocky steep hill and could only make it a couple truck lengths, he tore up the bottom pretty bad.
then the driver jumped in with me for a ride in the 70.

so here i am trying to use crawl technique :hmm: and Jordan says "are you still unlocked?" yep says I, then Jordan gloats "i think the 100 is winning"
no lockers and skinny pedal comes into play. :meh:
that little PZ can rock when it needs to, eh?

with the lockers engaged it is just a crawl. :steer:

Not like I need any further temptation :flipoff2:

That's awesome, thanks for posting Wayne. I think I missed you today and will try again tomorrow.

Brett,
As we spoke, I will have to pass.
It truly is a rare truck with lots of work done to it.
i wish you the best with the sale.
cheers

I know Alex! All my fault :D

I've always wanted one of those, they're so cool and rare! I have a JDM BJ44 if you wanna trade!

Bump for a price update. Still open to offers and trades, though getting close to keeping it price!

Man, i'd love to own this.. I heard if it comes in as a diplomat vehicle they weren't allowed to sell it. My worry would be once i got it back to good ol' Kalifornia.. they'll smash it and i'll be out the denero. Anybody have any insight to this?
not true. My 105 came in as a diplomat's vehicle and, after ten years here owned by the diplomat, he sold it as a titled and registered vehicle here to two persons before myself. It is completely legit and unassailable. No clouds on title whatsoever.

While it was owned by the diplomat, it wore consular plates and then, after a required period, it was allowed to be titled here and sold. I remember seeing the truck driving around Houston three or four time in the 2004-2007 time-frame and thought it was badass--never realizing that I would one day own it.

DD, unfortunately that is not entirely accurate, diplomat vehicles are supposed to be either exported or re-sold to other diplomat types at the termination of the diplomat's tour. Fortunately is seems the program doesn't have much oversight and thankfully for many of us, many vehicles slip through the cracks;)

From the NHSTA website.

DIPLOMAT OR MEMBER OF AN ORGANIZATION DESIGNATED UNDER THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IMMUNITIES ACT:
A vehicle may be imported for personal use during the importer’s tour of duty. The vehicle must be registered with the Office of Foreign Missions of the State Department and a copy of the importer’s official orders must be attached to the HS-7 Declaration form. The vehicle must be exported at the end of the tour of duty unless it is sold to another person who is eligible to import a vehicle under this exception. Use Box 6 on the HS-7 Declaration form.

That being said, as with DD's truck, once they are titled and registered in the US, you are pretty much Ok. My troopie has been registered and insured in FL, CA, and NC between me and two POs right before the original dip owner, so far no issues.;)

The troopies are bad-ass and are definite head turners. Brett and Quinton put a lot of love into that cruiser. It needs a good home to give it the luvin' it needs. Somebody needs to snap that thing up;)

X2
Even though the number of 70 Series is starting to increase ( slowly ) in the U.S. the
75 Series ( Troopy and Ute ) are generally not among those imports and remain extremely rare.

* I am not referring to the 75/79 Series ( mine trucks ) that have been such a hot subject on this forum lately.
