The coolant is red and the oil black as night... anything else to check??

I would test the coolant for exhaust gases (tests are available for rent from most box auto stores,) test the compression (in the '60's all pistons are supposed to be within 14psi, not sure what the metric is for an '80) and send an oil sample to Blackstone. There is no obvious steaming on your plugs. If that all comes back clean I would feel pretty comfortable with the truck.

Received the cxracing exhaust manifold and intake tube today! The tube went on really easy and looks nice other than it showed up all scratched.. the exhaust looks fine though. Can’t wait to get the exhaust done! Mine leaks and is all rusty and looks like crap after 25 years!

Took the rig out camping with a couple buddies and my girlfriend! It did great for what it is right now! Slept in the back with the second row folded up.. not a lot of space since I am 6’3. Think I will build a sleeping platform to utilize more space. And we stayed decently warm inside with it being 30 degrees out at night!

I have all the parts to replace the entire cooling system but haven’t had the time to do it yet, and just so happens the fj wouldn’t heat up the last couple days so i just opened up the thermostat housing and popped out the Oem one and it had failed open. Threw the new Oem one in I had waiting and good as new. Lost about two gallons of red coolant and replaced it with red, now when I go to flush everything and replace all the pieces the coolant should be all new or close to it!!

I chopped down the factory battery tray and removed the walls and some more of the bottom of it, and mounted the ruff stuff optima battery box to the factory tray, and mounted up my Warn winch today! Everything went smooth!

Cut the front fenders a little last night and took her out for a stretch today, need a little more trimming on the front by the bumper other than that she does good! But I may wait to trim it since I am redoing the front and it will sit a little higher in the front

BH3D cup holders done! Quality stuff! Still waiting on my 3 link kit from 4wheelunderground, still haven’t taken the time to overhaul the cooling system and do the exhaust. Been having to much fun with it to tear it apart haha
