1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ75 Troopy (No motor) LHD !!! I bought this vehicle January 2024 to turn it into an overland rig, but life changes and we moved to Costa Rica instead. Oma is from Oman, the country in the Middle East, so Left Hand Drive and no rust, since it's desert there. Unfortunately the engine blew, so I never got to drive her. Then the plan was to put a 1HZ diesel in there and that is where I stopped. H55 Manual 5 Speed Transmission. The old engine is out. I have a brand new aluminum radiator installed, new battery, have new (used) dashed, new left OEM mirror, refinished the air filter housing. The car is overall in great shape, she is a 1990, so not perfect, of course, but no rust! Perfect base for an overlander! Odometer reads 341079.I know of a 1HZ for sale locally! This car has a clear WA State title, it is located in Bellingham, WA.

Any pictures or knowledge of the body condition before the respray? I'm guessing that was done in Oman.

Sorry, no info of that. Other than it is super common everywhere except Europe and USA to re-spray cars. It for sure is not the best paint job!

If truly “rust free” this is very tempting even with the overspray.

Big potential here for those brave enough or ready to “pay to play”.

I have limited myself to two Cruisers which I have so I must resist! However, the “overland” blank canvas urge is strong on this one!

GLWS!

Cheers

I have been trying to resist too. The only thing holding me back is the making sure the vehicle is actually in Washington and that I don’t get scammed. The owner left for Costa Rica Wednesday.

Do you happen to know anyone in Bellingham, WA who can lay eyes on it for me?

There is also a 1989 70 series 160 miles from me that runs and drives for only $17,000.00. By the time I would pay transportation from WA. to IN. it would make more sense to buy the closer one that runs for more money.

Tough call! This blank slate is screaming for a diesel engine with a camper conversion.

I agree! I’m actually surprised nobody has snatched it up. I wish my Troopy that I am keeping, “Wanda” had come with no engine! I would have saved so much money in tracking down all sorts of issues!

I totally understand, seems like a scam. Feel free to call or text me at +1 (206) 295-1411.
It’s not a scam. The car is parked in my stepson’s driveway in Bellingham. Yes, I’m back in CR, but you’re welcome to come by, or have someone to come by any time. Contact me and we’ll figure it out.
All the best.

dont tempt me....
I will absolutely tempt you! Give me a call if you have any questions on how we can organize your shipping. :)

I have a 1f-f + h150f with ~17000km on it if anyone wants a sweet combo deal.

So tempted to do it myself :hmm:

Does the hood not close on this?

Does the hood not close on this?
Sorry for the slow response, yes the hood absolutely closes. I did notice that I never closed it in any of the pictures.

Any idea if the factory air worked on this before the engine blew?
Honestly, I do not know. But since this vehicle is from Oman, I’m sure air conditioning was extremely important to them.

is this still for sale?
Good morning! Yes, this is for sale! Located in Bellingham, WA. Feel free to give me a call, +1-206-295-1411.

Every time this thread bumps I look and want. Then I check my bank account and I’m still poor.

I would absolutely love a troopy with no engine. Build what I want and roll on.

One day. At least that’s what I tell myself.
I really wish I had bought my Troopy, Wanda, without an engine. I have had so many issues because nothing was ever done right by the previous owners. I am sure I could have easily bought a brand new engine by now... Then it would be new, or at least re-built and I knew what I had.

Glad you were able to sell. It was so tempting.
