1990 HDJ81 in SW Ontario

First off the reason I'm selling is because I tow a 5000# trailer and would prefer a little more power.

1990 HDJ81 Landcruiser, RHD, 4.2l diesel, auto, CDL, diff locks, 2.5 OME lift, Safari Snorkel, 33 BFG AT's, tranny cooler, custom hitch built in to rear bumper, winch, PIAA driving lights...($650)

Truck is awesome, returns 24-28mpg at highway speed. Have had NO problems or issues with it since I bought it from Wayne at Luxury Imports back in February.

I had the alternator rebuilt, new batteries, drivers seat restuffed...

Asking price: $24000obo.

Tons of pix available.

Duly noted and edited, thanks MoJ

Curious what you pull and under what distances/conditions.. considered an extreme duty valve body upgrade or just want to go straight to a cummins etc..?
Also curious how you found the front end handling when towing?

Have considered the valve body upgrade, not sure about the cost, then there's the more power situation which could be solved by propane injection but I'm guessing $5000+ for both.

Also the truck is OVERKILL for my uses, I need more of a tow vehicle than an offroad vehicle. I was thinking someone else could probably benefit better from my truck and I could get a better suited tow vehicle.

As to towing with the 81. Piece of cake. I use a WD bar some tongue weight is evenly spread out between all axles. Trailer tows great. A little more power would be nice, my biggest concern is with the transmission, I don't want to do any damage so I've taken it VERY easy when towing.

I tow a 5000# Airstream with WD bars and anti sway bar.

.. well that's reasuring. I plan on towing 2-3000# regularly.

Extreme Valve Body upgrade:

Greatly increased clamping loads on all clutch packs = eliminates slip on high torque/high tow applications
Quicker and Firmer shifts = Less heat build up and no sloppy gear changes
Torque Converter lock up in 3rd and 4th gear (instead of just 4th)= Superior power transfer in kickdown situations on steep grades
Higher lube pressure and flow = Less internal heat build up
Can cure heavy load clutch slippage on modified high ouput 12HT/1HDT/TD42 Engine Groups

thanks, with London.

i am shocked you are selling...

best of luck selling it...
cheers
