I expect most people would want to rip the 3F out so factor that in the price as well. It doesn’t seem to have A/C either.

Otherwise it looks like a well used and solid troopy. Maybe about $5K-$7K less than asking price would seem fair to me.

Of course some say the LHD drives the value up.

Pristine, definately not. Why did they pop rivet the landcruiser badge on? I wouldnt touch it without a close up inspection. Who knows what lurking under the paint.
Its an intact complete fairly original LHD vehicle, the 3F in the US is much more affordable than other countries and you would have to spend a lot on a diesel that could outrun it.
If they worked on the gearbox, why didn't they clean off the greasy mess on the protection plate?
It doesnt have the factory diff in it, I think thats a GM unit which is normal for VZ landcruisers.
Aircon switch is aftermarket, again it could be a VZ thing.

They appear to have removed all the roof supports in the rear. Im not sure about the legal requirements in the US but in Australia it wouldn't pass a roadworthy examination, and it shouldn't.

I doubt you will get one much cheaper unless you import it yourself and it will probably be RHD.
Proceed with caution.

The carbed 3F was never available in the US so some parts won’t be available stateside.

Well the whole vehicle was never offered, so everything will be a chase.

Power steering pump looks like a Ford or Volvo unit. It seems to have an electric fan, I cant see if it has the original as well. An electric fan will not keep that cool on its own.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that people pop riveted badges on because in some countries they like to steal the badges off the trucks. Guess the pop rivets would slow them down. Something about wiper arms too. It was a random fact I came across that stuck in my brain....

Ive heard things like that. But for $31K , you would think the dealer would have rectified it.

Appreciate all the info! Thanks.

Pretty amazing Eagle Eyes here!!

Yeah , too many hours spent looking at landcruisers. But it really needs a close up inspection. I guess its about a 6-7 hour drive

I didn't have the riveted badges but all the glass on my FJ73 had the Colombian license plate # etched on it.

I don't think it's a normal thing to do but I know I have seen it done. It might have even been in Russia that I remember people saying to rivet them on.

OR....it's from Central America....so.....it's probably just what was convenient to re-install badges with.

This troopy will be filled with all kinds of fun surprises I bet. The passenger side dash looks really beat up....cracked stereo bezel(that's like a $20 piece), missing shifter pattern on shift knobs, screws are mismatched, etc. Based on my Troopy....when those dashes are beat up, I think the whole truck is kind of beat up.....or maybe nicer to say, "well used". It's all minor stuff. Door panels are painted, the doors are probably a mess...they seem to take a lot wear. Like RoscoFJ73 pointed out....the really greasy skid plates are concerning. My truck was bone dry under it.....a positive.

Kind of cool it has all the seats. And the white roof is really neat. Thinking about the same thing for mine.

Would definitely want to check that body on this one.....I would bet it's got a ton of filler in it. Would want to closely inspect those gutters too.

Good looking truck.....$31k is a bunch of money for it though. You can get a beat up one from the Middle East and slowly build it out if that's your thing for a lot less. Plus you might be able to get a 1FZ-F motor which isn't ideal but it's way better than the 3F. Or maybe a Euro 1hz Troopy...may have to deal with a little rust on those. So much info and knowledgeable people on here to help out....

The rear axle has also been replaced with something not-original.

That's standard in Venezuela.

The 3F, while not everyone's top choice, is completely adequate for a truck of this size.

I wouldn't spend over $20K for that one. I MIGHT drop $10K on it with only the photos. Best to see it in person first.

I'd imagine the repaint is hiding lots of things though. Repaints out of South America and the Middle East are generally hiding things.

South of the US boarder many countries have crazy mudding skills and know how to make something shiny. Unfortunately it's just a matter of time before body work starts cracking and falling off. I wouldn't touch the car unless you can get someone to inspect it with a paint thickness meter. Body work can be way more expensive than mechanical repair.
