After 2 years with this vehicle, I'm out. I purchased the truck for off-road family fun. I've never been able to keep it running and now the motor has developed a knock. This could be a good shell for a project or maybe a parts car. It currently has a bunch of problems including:
Motor heats up and starts knocking after about a mile of driving.
The transmission overheats under load (long climbs up mountain roads).
Tires are nearly bald.
The a/c has never had a belt, so don't know if it works.
The 4 wheel vacuum switch is bad (works one way).
The front trunnion seals are leaking.
Needs tie rods replaced.
There are some good points, including:
New parts I've put on: Water pump, thermostat, alternator and starter.
All window motors functioning.
Interior okay for age.
Has some rust on the body, but the frame is rust free.
Four wheel drive works great.
It has 227,556 miles on the odometer. It will need to be towed from current location. I'll answer all questions to the best of my ability. Thanks for looking.
