Figured I would post this up to see if there is any interest.

I'm bringing a 1988 HJ61 back from Europe (where I am currently stationed). The truck should be in Jacksonville, FL by the end of the month and will be registered/titled in Florida.

Long story short, the powers that be have changed my path and decided to send me to Key West, FL (bum deal in know :D) and I won't have the time or garage space to give the truck a proper restoration.

For those who know, the Keys are not the best environment for vehicles prone to rust. I'm not too concerned as I don't plan on doing any body work there, but I feel this truck deserves better.

If someone is interested in getting a low mileage LHD 61 with a 12HT and H55 that needs some body work, please let me know via PM. I'm asking $9000 to cover what I've got invested. In October I will start replacing some normal wear items like brakes, tires etc.. as I get time and that would bump the cost.

If there is no interest I'll just keep it as my daily driver until I get an assignment where I can have a flippin garage again.

I'll post the few pics I have on hand and more when i pick it up at the end of the month (when I'll be returning stateside).
Open to possible trades for a high mileage diesel Ford or Dodge truck (I might need to tow a big boat:beer:)

Jim, the truck will be legally imported and registered in FL. The only reason I'm doing it in FL is that is where I'm being stationed. Everything is original (motor, frame etc..) and I don't think there would be any issues in other states (except CA probably).

There are rust spots on the rockers, lower portion of the doors and rear hatches. Somebody made some repairs in these areas at some point in the trucks life but they did not hold up well. From the belt line up it seems completely solid - the roof, windshield, windows etc.. show no signs or bubbling. The floors and firewall are solid.

Also, there was some minor damage to the driver fender and hood which you can kind of make out in the above photos. There are also some dents and scratches here and there - and of course those god-awful roof lights. Everything appears cosmetic, no rusting through to the interior. It's a good bet the driver door and fender were replaced in the past.

The interior is in very decent shape save for the normal wear on the driver lower cushion. Everything worked during my drive except the fuel gauge. I drove the truck from Salzburg to Bremerhaven (about 1000km) on the highway averaging about 135 kph with no issues.

If I didn't make it clear it definitely does have rust in the usual places. I bought the truck for the drivetrain, but after driving it across Germany, it seems to be a really decent driver with a great motor. Mileage is just over 130,000 miles.

I emailed my wife to also dig for some photos and hopefully I can have those posted.
