1987 CDN BJ 70 with mods 100% rust free

It has never been re- painted, it still has the factory original paint job. it has never had any body work done.

I am the third owner, the prior owners, (one of which is a mud member) never drove it in the Canadian winter. The 2nd owner brought it with him to N. Cali and was always garaged. I bought it from him and garaged it for the winters. I have wheeled it on the Rubicon and Alaska Cruiser Trek 2010 so it has minor dings and brush scratches.

I'm sure there are details on the CL ad I forgot, and I will update that ad as I recall them.

Bump for a good guy!

This is my old rig, I was the idot who spent all the $$ on it. I can vouch 100% for this old girl and tell you there is absolutely NO rust...nada...anywhere...not a spec.

The guy I bought it from in Canada was the original owner. He was an engineer and lived in dry Southern Alberta and treated this rig like his first born. It NEVER saw a rain drop or a salted road...this was his summer vehicle.

I bought it with 130KM (80,000 miles) and brought it to CA later that year. The work done over the next 7 years was always done with no expense spared and done correctly with long-range expedition travel in mind.

I have always had regrets over selling it and would buy it back in a heartbeat had I not just spent a metric s***-ton of money building a 12HT diesel 62 series camper.

If a SERIOUS buyer wishes to ask me questions, I'm happy to help Jon...but don't have time for tire kickers...just PM me.

Here are a few extra pics to give you an idea of just how clean this thing was back in the day....I see this thing every year at Rubithon and aside from a little extra dust and the one small dent in the back, it's just as i sold it to Jon.

Hey Brett! Thanks for posting those pix and the contact info. I have been wrestling with this decision for about six months. It is so fun to drive, and watch all the heads swivel as it goes down the road never gets old! But I rent a storage unit to store it and the rent is going up quite a bit. Looked at my records and in the years I have owned it I average 2600 miles a year driving it. I am really glad I got seat time in this rig and I have been places I would never have seen if I had not purchased it, thanks again!

With much dedication I was able to add brush scratches and a couple dings so the rig is not as pristine as when I acquired it from you lol! Some of the scratching came from Alaska but most of it is from trails in western Nevada that are overgrown with a nasty type of bush and pinion pines.

Some real scratches came from the "Wedge Rock" on Cadillac Hill. You have to do it just perfect to miss it. I added this extra protection basically due to that one section. You can see that it can be removed in order to remove the bumper if necessary. It has been thoroughly tested on the accursed wedge rock and I no longer sphincter so hard at that spot!

Luke's 80 Series bumper requires surgery. I am waiting for a return call from him now to get more details.

Thank you for the kind words, every single person on that trek was amazing. Bossman and crew handed out some amazing baked goods. Their crew brought an oven and provided fresh cup cakes in the middle of BFA. What a treat!! Hands down the best trip the wife and I have ever been on. Would not have attempted it unless we had the BJ 70.

A trip of a lifetime. Yep, the 70 was the only rig that did not need any fixing. Also we did not have a roof rack or roof top tent. Everything we needed was packed inside the rig, including our ground tent. the 70 looks really small, but it can be packed large lol!

That is one beautiful truck! Very nice work. I just wish it was a 74. Those 70's a just too short. LOL. Id stand that truck on its tail everytime I went out wheeling around here.

Sold to a land rover guy in Reno. He used to have a rare diesel land rover that had a poptop camper set up. Pretty cool rover. He was amazed the bj 70 could do 70mph with a tent on the top, the old rover couldn't get over 55 mph.

So it went to a good home where it will be appreciated and driven to many remote spots. That rig has certainly seen a lot of country and will continue to do so.

Yes it is factory paint. I don't know the name of the color, some sort of gray metallic.
