The 70 is now sold.
thanks for looking.

Location is Ontario Canada.
EPA exempt in the US now
DOT exempt in the US in Oct.
I bought this RHD vehicle back in 2006 when it had just 21,000 km (12,600 miles) on it.
This is a link to the original pics, I am using Luxury's site to help advertise it:
Luxury Imports - Calgary, Alberta
I had planned on turning it into a wheeling rig due to the dent beside the fuel filler access door but when it arrived in Canada the dent was MUCH smaller than it looked in the picture and I realized I had a true survivor on my hands. I just couldn't bring myself to modify it.
8 years later and it now has 31,000 km (18,600 mile). It is still in the same condition that it was when it arrived. I installed a brand new factory soft top shortly after I received it off the train. The original ripped at the seams as I removed it to detail the paint.
Here is the thread on Mud about removing and installing the factory top:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/119088-installing-factory-soft-top-bj70.html
Since then the truck has been driven roughly 800 km per year. It has never been driven in the winter. It has never been in an accident. It has not been repainted. It is all original down to the factory split rims (except the radio).
The only fault the truck has is the exhaust is rusted and I have a brand new full factory system being shipped in from Japan.
This is a collectors dream or a builder’s blank canvas to work from.
The last few tanks of fuel has returned 10l/100km (30 mpg imp)
The last tank of fuel 362 km to 32L of fuel, 90 k/h (32 mpg imp or 26.5 mpg US at 55 mph)
I have a RHD PS kit sitting here as well as a RHD AC kit which can be negotiated. turbo/lift/etc etc can be installed at an extra cost.
This is one of five factory soft top SWB 70s in North America and is the lowest mileage and the only full stock condition.
I have no real use for the vehicle and it really should go to a new home in the care of someone that will appreciate the rarity that this vehicle is.
$29,000 CND

Are you calling Wayne a"flipper"?

I would hope not. Just look him up in the diesel section.

He has been more than helpful on numerous occasions to me.

Oh, and I think he also runs a LC import business, which he has never advertised anywhere other than Classifieds.

Doug

Ps. GLWS.

Nice clean rig.

settle down DB. It was a joke

Why do I think SOR, TLC4x4, Proffits or someone like that is gonna buy this? Beautiful rig Wayne.

thanks for the compliments guys, it is a beautiful rig.

"Flipper" has been a nickname i have lived with since shortly after i joined mud. Most use it with good natured intentions.

all people that buy and sell are flippers in one way or another.

some more pics:
nice clean original engine bay
with the soft top removed and the bikini top installed.
(the bikini top is MUCH quieter than the soft top and no top is very quiet)
i took the red soft top i own to a run near Ottawa a couple years back. on the return trip we hit a monsoon rain storm with no bikini or soft top installed.
at 70 k/h (42 mph) we never got a drop on us, the rake of the windshield and the air flow kept Rusty and I completely dry.

Could I come and work it off.

sounds like a fine offer but i have a new worker that is ... well ... excellent. maybe if something happens to him.

Absolutely Love the Shorty. I had to put on some sun glasses while looking in the engine bay.

it would look something like this:
open top with bikini
hardtop from 74 series sitting on

i had a brand new factory windshield frame shipped from Japan and painted factory white.
I installed it this week.
the rust sweat that was showing was a hint there might be more damage below.
these fold down windshield frames have a nasty tendency to rust in the seams.
this one was affected.

i sent the 70 into the detailers on Wed to have the paint brought back and the interior cleaned properly.
the results look amazing, what i do like about this detailer is he doesn't use the "shiny" application but uses a product that keep the original look.
<it is going to be hard to see this one go to a new home>
the color is off since it is sitting in a car tent.
i left the soft top off and installed a bikini top so they could polish up even the cross rail supports.

the door panels are still in very fine shape
as you can see the door has zero rust.

remember this vehicle is all original, no re-paint, no body work.
i still find it amazing.
