The 70 is now sold.
thanks for looking.

Location is Ontario Canada.
EPA exempt in the US now
DOT exempt in the US in Oct.
I bought this RHD vehicle back in 2006 when it had just 21,000 km (12,600 miles) on it.
This is a link to the original pics, I am using Luxury's site to help advertise it:
Luxury Imports - Calgary, Alberta
I had planned on turning it into a wheeling rig due to the dent beside the fuel filler access door but when it arrived in Canada the dent was MUCH smaller than it looked in the picture and I realized I had a true survivor on my hands. I just couldn't bring myself to modify it.
8 years later and it now has 31,000 km (18,600 mile). It is still in the same condition that it was when it arrived. I installed a brand new factory soft top shortly after I received it off the train. The original ripped at the seams as I removed it to detail the paint.
Here is the thread on Mud about removing and installing the factory top:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/119088-installing-factory-soft-top-bj70.html
Since then the truck has been driven roughly 800 km per year. It has never been driven in the winter. It has never been in an accident. It has not been repainted. It is all original down to the factory split rims (except the radio).
The only fault the truck has is the exhaust is rusted and I have a brand new full factory system being shipped in from Japan.
This is a collectors dream or a builder’s blank canvas to work from.
The last few tanks of fuel has returned 10l/100km (30 mpg imp)
The last tank of fuel 362 km to 32L of fuel, 90 k/h (32 mpg imp or 26.5 mpg US at 55 mph)
I have a RHD PS kit sitting here as well as a RHD AC kit which can be negotiated. turbo/lift/etc etc can be installed at an extra cost.
This is one of five factory soft top SWB 70s in North America and is the lowest mileage and the only full stock condition.
I have no real use for the vehicle and it really should go to a new home in the care of someone that will appreciate the rarity that this vehicle is.

Rising Sun imports tried that idea on this site back in 07, it wasn't very well accepted.
can't remember if is was a raffle or an auction but i think i will pass, thanks though.

nice when you can still order new Toyota original parts for a 25 year old Land Cruiser, eh?
the down pipe was factory painted with aluminum paint ...

since the down pipe was painted already i decided to paint the rest with high heat aluminum paint.
if the first exhaust lasted 25 years unpainted then this unit should last the life of the truck ...
new exhaust donuts through out.

this is the reason the exhaust was changed, it could have been welded easy enough.
but
why not change out the whole system and have it good for years to come?

the new down pipe installed ...

I took the Soft top for a 100 km drive on the weekend and it sounds like new, so quiet now.
It drives like new, handles like new, rides like new ... someone is going to be very happy.
Cheers

went for a relaxing drive on the weekend.
720 km to 62L of fuel
32 mpg (canadian)
27 mpg (US) ((432 miles to 16 gallons US))
this was a mix of highway, back roads and town driving with speeds of (roughly) 43 mph back roads, 55 mph highway and 30 mph city.
70 mph and the fuel mileage will drop dramatically.

i also have a factory 24V Asian low profile electric winch that will mount on the front with the SS inserts, frame extensions etc. extra cost.

I am considering painting my M101 military trailer to match the white of the BJ70, what do you think?

simple, cause that is just me.
if the BJ70 sells then the new owner will have the option to purchase the trailer or the trailer will get painted red to go behind my ragtop PZJ70 or the red FJ75.
IF i still have the BJ70 in Oct then it will be going into the local classic car show. the show is the largest in Ontario and 20 mins from home. there are hundreds of muscle cars being displayed, with one or two classic Rovers.
It would be nice to have the lifted PZJ70 ragtop, the FJ75 pickup and the BJ70 with M101 displayed to give the visitors something different to admire.
no?

October is just around the corner. This is a super cool and super clean truck. This truck should be tooling around the world for years to come. GLWS
