The 70 is now sold.
thanks for looking.

Location is Ontario Canada.
EPA exempt in the US now
DOT exempt in the US in Oct.
I bought this RHD vehicle back in 2006 when it had just 21,000 km (12,600 miles) on it.
This is a link to the original pics, I am using Luxury's site to help advertise it:
Luxury Imports - Calgary, Alberta
I had planned on turning it into a wheeling rig due to the dent beside the fuel filler access door but when it arrived in Canada the dent was MUCH smaller than it looked in the picture and I realized I had a true survivor on my hands. I just couldn't bring myself to modify it.
8 years later and it now has 31,000 km (18,600 mile). It is still in the same condition that it was when it arrived. I installed a brand new factory soft top shortly after I received it off the train. The original ripped at the seams as I removed it to detail the paint.
Here is the thread on Mud about removing and installing the factory top:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-tech/119088-installing-factory-soft-top-bj70.html
Since then the truck has been driven roughly 800 km per year. It has never been driven in the winter. It has never been in an accident. It has not been repainted. It is all original down to the factory split rims (except the radio).
The only fault the truck has is the exhaust is rusted and I have a brand new full factory system being shipped in from Japan.
This is a collectors dream or a builder’s blank canvas to work from.
The last few tanks of fuel has returned 10l/100km (30 mpg imp)
The last tank of fuel 362 km to 32L of fuel, 90 k/h (32 mpg imp or 26.5 mpg US at 55 mph)
I have a RHD PS kit sitting here as well as a RHD AC kit which can be negotiated. turbo/lift/etc etc can be installed at an extra cost.
This is one of five factory soft top SWB 70s in North America and is the lowest mileage and the only full stock condition.
I have no real use for the vehicle and it really should go to a new home in the care of someone that will appreciate the rarity that this vehicle is.
$29,000 CND

the seats and dash are in very nice shape.
no rips, no tears, no cracks ... the passenger seat has a stain in the material but is hardly noticeable.

maybe i sould call some Toyota dealerships and see if they want one for their showroom??

the color is off due to sitting inside a car tent.
the hood is perfectly straight, that isn't a dent or rust on the front corner of the hood, a darn bug gave up its life trying to stop me coming home.
the side panels are in excellent condition and dead straight...

the running board isn't perfect.
more wheel well pics
the black coating is the "rust proofing" the Japanese put on some of their vehicles. this has been on there since before 06 when the truck arrived in Canada. it has not been touched up.

i told the detailing shop to leave the yellow paint on the nuts but i guess the message never was relayed to the staff.
the rims and tires are in very decent shape.
the rear trim piece needs to be replaced, not sure why Toyota will use S/S in most places but they use cheap coated steel where there is traffic in and out the back.

the side metal normally hidden by the soft top looks like new
the mileage as it sits 6 years after i bought it.
the upper soft top rail system, not sure if i posted this pic or not. some light wear from the top moving on it.

if anyone wants specific pics just email me and ask...

compared to some of the 70 series being sold here on Mud, this is probably the most stock, actual low km, extremely clean shape 70 being sold. when compared to the prices being asked for vehicles with 10X the mileage and rust, i feel the price is justified to the right individual that is particular in his desires.

thanks for looking.

driving around in the bare bones 70 with the top off feels so ... retro.
