Another simple project but took the longest to do. my intercooler piping done but oil from the breather kept blowing my piping off.

ill order a new profile crank case hose. the old ones too brittle to join off. And yes I have seen the rats nest of wiring coming off the main battery. its on the list.
Very tight fit, this ones a Ryco 350K attached via nutsert to the firewall.

Intercooler update:
20200910_172259.jpg

Everything fits and runs. had a problem with the coolant pump stalling? was strange. will have to buy a reputable brand pump. Cant tell you the difference as my EGT probe barely registers being post turbo. Hard driving will register ~350 degrees Celsius on hard push highway driving.

Turbo time!!
Below is a High flow CT26 From MMP turbo's in Melbourne

This one is his CT26 Plus version 2. smaller turbine housing from faster spool up and high flow billet compressor wheel. Advertised as bolt on but due to slightly wider assembly the old actuator does not fit well and some brackets don't meet their old hole alignment. also fitting the oil drain/feed needs to be done at the same time as inserting the studs due to clearance.

The old nut must wave been loose awhile- its worn the stud right out. getting it out was straight forward.

New turbo needs a new EGT location. I managed to get the manifold off without breaking a stud!

Location of the EGT probe. its very responsive now. Foot down hard and watch the temp climb, will be handy for towing.

Should have dry tested the fit of the hoses. one of the larger studs had to be removed to install the oil feed/drain pipe. just not enough clearance between the compressor.

Finally finished. took her for a test drive, disabled the boost Tee and saw 10 PSI. She seems to pick up earlier and has beautiful spool noise. have not touched the fuel as yet.

Engine mounts
Been awhile since an update.not too much info searching here on the forum, but this is what I ended up doing.

Did not have and engine crane, so I went with the block of wood and shop jack method. have heard some people jack up the sump- not going to happen. loosened off both sides and did the drivers side first (right hand side for the Americans)
As you can see the rubber had perished and sunken. left hand one was worse, had actually split half way through. Left hand was so much harder to change. ended up removing the whole assembly off the engine to get it out and change it on the bench. No way of getting to the top nut otherwise. This has solved quite a bit of shudder at start up, the whole thing seems more solid now.

And finally..
I got her tuned!! I'm sure a lot of you have been waiting to see what has come of this car.

Cleaned up the engine bay and intercooler piping to stop any rattles and wear. Yes I still have not cleaned up the battery setup.

100mm down pipe clamp modified to hold the barrel in place. even used the original fan shroud thread. After I did the engine mounts, I went and had a 3" turbo back exhaust made to keep the EGT's down for tuning.

I got her back from the tuners- Perth Fuel injection did the work. Had a great chat with them as to what else I could do in the future. But for now I'm happy.
here's the results:

As you can see not great, no power through the rev range. topping out at 66 HP.

Not sure where they found them but they got another 33 horse power out of her! It actually blew me away that it has more power now at 1800rpm than at redline pre-tune. Sorry its not overlaid on each other, they said the change was that big that it just didn't scale well.
I don't have air intake gauges so I cant tell how effective the Intercooler was, but the guys doing the tuning said they were able to keep the egt's steady. they topped out at 110 Hp but rolled it back to save longevity of the engine.
I was told it hits the wall due to fuelling- bigger plungers in the fuel pump would be the next step.
Overall it feels like a completely different car, boost comes on quick and has a real racy feel to it.

100HP to the wheels seems OK. You are at pretty much sea level elevation right? A guy in Denver was running 98 to the wheels with a 13BT in a 40 with an intercooler.

How much PSI are you running on the turbo? I was thinking you might be close to 120 with an upgraded turbo/intercooler setup.

Looks like a great setup, still contemplating that setup for an intercooler for mine. I thought @Hulsty was going to dyno his, but I don't know if he ever did.

Yes pretty much sea level in Perth.
Running 15psi of boost. I know these things can pull bigger numbers and my turbo has been built to run up to 22.
Pretty happy with conservative numbers.

Yeah I've been through all of hustly's builds and they were a great inspiration.

Next project will probably be cruise control. Has anyone had any luck? I was looking at the inline vehicle speed sensors that plug onto the Speedo cable on the H55f box.
