If I'm the Toyota dealer, I wouldn't stock the filter as well. (only 2/3 owner in the market):D You should make an effort to make friend with other 2 owner, "Where did you get your oil filter or regulator?"

The other 2 are "snooty" 79 Series owners so I don't want to be their friend.:D

After approximately 3 weeks of never ending electrical gremlins there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. The HJ now has a rebuilt alternator, a bunch of new ground wires and a new ever elusive external ( 6 prong ) regulator to replace the Ingram unit. All of the gremlins are now gone and I will post photos of the replacement regulator ( along with the part number ) on Tuesday when I return to the U.S.
Thanks to everyone who made suggestions and provided info.

We're not all that bad....

:)

Hello,

Certainly you and Gracie (my former parts girl) are not. I wish there would be more like you.

"Beno" has been my go to guy for virtually all of my parts requirements and has been willing to answer all of my stupid questions. ( undoubtedly he does not have caller ID :D)

Sorry...... a photo that is actually in focus.:)

I realize it would probably be a fluke however if you have an external "Ingram" regulator and it is faulty it can be replaced with a NAPA unit ( part number VR528 ). The NAPA guy spent an hour in front of his computer to track down this part so he will probably turn the lights out and dive behind the counter the next time I pull into the parking lot.

The original dome light ( which was shorted ) was replaced with this LED unit. We used the original backing plate as well as the factory lens cover however the guts are now LED and as you can see this sucker is bright.:)

Can you show the LED light without the factory lens cover?;)

I will have to squeeze into the tight cab ( butt first ) and remove two screws but for you I am willing to do it.:) ( just waiting for the sun to rise)

As you can tell from the pencil marks and cardboard that the term "home made" applies here. Not fancy but 10 times brighter than the factory light.:) What you can't see in this photo is the 3 way toggle switch that is located just below the light.

If the NT is like WA,then the higher the number ,the later the plate issue.
You could write/email the Dept that hands out the plates. NT Transport Group - NT Government - Australia

The plate may have been issued with the vehicle when it was new,or it may be a replacement for one that has fallen off. You dont get the old number back when you lose one.

You may also get a curt letter informing you that the plate belongs to the NT govt and should have been handed back when the vehicle lic was cancelled.
They have special hunter killer agents to deal with people like you,if they have read this post,a cell may have already been dispatched :D

In that case the vehicle is not mine. I got the photo off of the internet.
:D

I assume the Australian version of a "curt" letter is one that does not contain the words mate and g'day?:)

Yes,its like a boot up the ass but in written form with an australian public service accent, think BBC meets Irish convict.

If you see characters like this in your neighbourhood ,its most likely the death squad.

I would have expected all of them to look like "Crocodile Dundee" and carry large Bowie Knives.:D

I apologize to whoever requested this photo ( I deleted the P.M. by mistake ) but here is the Ingram Regulator replacement from NAPA.
