We're downsizing and I have to sell my beloved 1985 cruiser. This truck has been almost completely mechanically rebuilt in the last 5 or so years. It runs PERFECTLY and does not leak a drop of oil. I have a huge file of the receipts for the parts and work done. Sadly, I've probably spent well over $10,000 on fixing this truck up in the last few years. That's how it goes though.

Here's a partial list of what's been done:
- New Old Man Emu full lift kit, including steering stabilizer, anti-inversion shackles (greasable shackles and pins)
- Complete de-smog including Weber carb upgrade (new) - lots more power
- GM power steering conversion (big time upgrade)
- Rebuilt head
- New water pump and radiator
- rebuilt front and rear axles, including hubs and new birfields in front
- Aussie locker rear diff (new)
- Rebuilt transmission and new clutch
- Rebuilt rear brakes, including new slave cylinders (fronts are fine for now)
- New oil pan gasket and rear main seal
- more that I can't even remember right now!

Other upgrades recently:
- New wheels and tires (about 10,000 miles ago)
- HID headlight upgrade with euro-spec Hella di-def lenses
- Rare Australian inclinometer in dash
- New i-pod ready stereo
- Bull bar in front

There is no real rust on the car. The only thing left to do on this truck is paint it (if you care about that, which I don't). Does not leak a drop of oil. No rust. Interior is better than any other 1985 vehicle you will see. Some wear on the bottom portion of drivers seat, but the passenger and rear seats look almost new. Same with the dash, door panels and carpet. You've got to see it in person.

$8,900 or possible trade for FJ80 with lockers. Will include Warn 4,500 lb. winch and roof rack for right price.

Nice looking Cruiser! Can you post more pics? Undercarriage etc.
How many miles?

Whats your bottom dollar? I have cash in hand?

Thanks, guys. Hahaha - no, I'm selling another vehicle too and replacing both with one FJ80. Here's the rub - wife thinks it's impractical for us to have 5 cars (I know, what?!) so I've been charged with reducing the number by one. We have a very nice 100 series that she loves, so I can't sell that. I have a 1955 Beetle that I've meticulously restored and is extremely rare, so I can't sell that. One is a work truck that I use daily, so I can't sell that. That leaves me with the 60 and my built up MkII VW Golf. Neither one make for a good, safe (8 month old son) around town car that can also go on adventures. So as I see it, the best compromise is a nice FJ80 moderately built.

Trox - I'll get some more photos this afternoon if the guy that's coming in a half hour doesn't buy it (it's his second time looking at it, so we'll see). What I can tell you is that it's clean. As in not a spec of appreciable rust. There's some light surface rust on the bumper brackets and the exhaust pipe. The kind of stuff you can almost rub off with your hand. That's it.

Lownslow - As a general practice I don't talk myself down on deals, so if you want to make me an offer go for it. But I know what it's worth and it's generated a freight ton of interest in one day.

Very cool 60, I'm sure it will move fast!

Took all of a day and a half but the truck is pending and I have a deposit. Will indicate sale or if it's back available by Monday afternoon.

Not surprised at the quick sale, it's very nice! Just trying to look out for you:)
