1984 FJ60 stock, in MT now $2800/strong offer

This is a feeler...want to sell this but I paid $2000 for it...so the bottom line is very close to this number...

I have too many pieces of iron in the fire. I now own 4 vehicles and need to downsize.

I got this last summer with the intention of building it up. It was mainly a hunting rig for the previous owner, and as such, was not driven alot real regularly. It has around $9000 or so in documented auto shop reciepts from the last 5 or so years...that being said it still needs a few things.
Just under 170,000 miles on the chassis, less on JDM engine. I have driven this FJ60 less than 2000 miles in the last year.

for a regular daily driver it needs:
-rebuilt (correctly) carb, or new Aisin, or weber
-desmog
-oil leaks addressed. Probably the oil pan, side cover, dunno possibly rear main.
-P/S pump leaks some fluid

It is a 4 speed, shifts great, 4WD/transfer all works great. All guages work. Has a JDM replacement engine from a few years ago, but it probably needs some minor tune ups such as a few gaskets, plugs/cap/rotor/wires, and probably a valve adjustment.

I took the wheels and tires for my '95 Tacoma, so it would need rims with the proper backspacing. As it sits on the '95 roller rims, I DO NOT think that they clear the brakes, so test drives would have to be done with some other wheels. Paint is original, and clear coat is peeling in spots, also some fading and very minimal surface rust starting to appear on the top of the roof.

Has a tear in the driver's side seat, and rusting of the drivers rear quarter panel at the bottom next to the exhaust. Frame rust and rust underneath seems to be surface rust an minimal. Not a 10 (out of 10), but also not a 5. Probably the rust (10 being no rust), is likely a 6 or 7 with the rear quarter factored in compared to other FJ60's I have seen in this price range.

Has Chilton manual, AND the 2F FSM, chassis FSM, electral supplemental FSM...every manual you would need for a ground-up, frame off restore.

Would consider cash + partial trades for a 14' john boat, guns (7mm mag, 30-06, .357 or .44/.45 revolver), possibly other Toyota stuff but like I said I am trying to do some downsizing.:D

My FJ60 is still for sale.
I would still take trades + cash.
I would sell it with the original rims if I get $2200 for it!!!

Here are some of the specifics:

-currently has 167,700 miles on it

-engine was replaced with a new/reman engine for $6000 in Aug/2001, at 137,800 miles including a new distributer (have ALL reciepts from previous owner since 8/2001 including oil chg reciepts)

-this means that this cruiser has only traveled 30,000 miles in the last 9 years

-new A/C at 150,000 in 7/2003 for $425

-EGR tune-up at 150,800 for $200

-new brake master cylinder at 150,900 in 9/2003 for $200

-also 2 new smog pumps (needs a desmog) and a carb rebuild with that time

-mileage was at 161,000 miles in 7/2005 which means it has only been driven 6,000 miles in 4 years. Has had $9000+ invested into it in the last 9 years.

-has been regularly started, and when I went to fire it up a few weeks ago it fired up on the 3rd try with some starting fluid. Warmed right up and purred like usual.

My rig is still for sale.

This could be yours, if you have a 14-16 foot jon boat (no motor needed) and some firearms to trade!

anyone, anyone...

mtntoys scheduled a showing, and then wasted my time by not showing!

original rims/tires are put back on because I had scheduled to show to mtntoys:ban:

I am still seeing FJ60's with 220,000+mi going for twice this price on the board here.

I would likely also take an enduro bike 250, 350, or 600 in a Honda or Yamaha, maybe Suzuki for a trade.

Really all this needs to drive to Alaska or Chile and back is: a carb, rear main seal, and smog pump or desmogged!!!

land cruiser

I'm interested in your cruiser, if it is what you say, "original paint". Do you have pics of interior? By any chance, do you know if i put a 3B Diesel engine, will the tranny, diffs still fit or would have to modify?

Waiting for your reply,
Thanks,
John

it would be easier to use the trans with the 3B. The input shafts of the trans are completely different.

camexpro- emaill sent.

3 puppies (Paul)- thanks for chiming in!

fsusteve- figured as much...too far away from a place where someone wants a 60.

Did I mention that there isn't any rust on the drivetrain (other than minor surface rust)???

a few nibbles, no bites.

$2200 with original rims, $2000/strong offer without the rims.

still open to all the trades I have listed above:D

This FJ60 is still for sale.

Replies sent to Hardrocker03 & ShaggyFJ.
I would like to sell this to put the money into a lift and tires for my '95 Tacoma!

Still interested in trades + ca$h (wanted: Tacoma rims/tires or special parts like an e-locker, small jon boat, guns, Honda Enduro moto (XR200R-XR600R), ???)

still for sale

Still for sale and trade!
Had a few nibbles but not a good bite yet!!!

I drove it 20 miles today at 20 deg F, and it really would need a good adjustment or a new carburator,
if you wanted to
DRIVE IT STRAIGHT TO MOAB!!!!!!!!!!:p

p.s. Also it is on 3 matching tires and the spare right now...

I changed the brake fluid and clutch fluid also, so it stops and shifts really good...
