What size spare you looking for??

36-37ish. I have 37s on the truck now so I need something close.

I've got 6 37" MTR's still. I think you need all of them and the beadlocks they're on!

But for real Sam, if you only need one, I can make it happen. With or without a rim and high or low tread. Likely will bring the entire set to GSMTR for spares and to try to sell.

How much you looking to get for the set? I'll def take at least one on a rim for a spare. It would benefit you more to try to sell a set with the ones that have good tread tho. Since mine is just a spare it doesn't need much tread, just needs to hold air.

That was fast. I got the tracking numbers on my cage already.

Don't really know at this point. I'd stopped trying to sell them since I thought about using them in Moab in October. We'll talk about it offline though. Either way, you'll have a spare tire after GSMTR.

No idea.

Lol... I'd really love to know for a possible future build so let us know what you find. :D Best of luck!

Ask Ted; he built his inner cage. Be VERY mindful of where your head "bobbles" when building an inner cage on a compact truck. I think he got used to the driver's side so he probly doesn't notice anymore, but my head didn't like riding in Ted's truck after he got that cage.

^ Right on... Ouch!

Tracking info shows the cage should be here Thursday. :grinpimp:

Dang, that is quick, heck you'll be done with that before I even get my valves adjusted... speaking of, does Mr.T have any secrets for cold valve adjustment? Everything I read says to adjust warm, but that requires a running motor....

Pretty sure it's gotta be warm. You can just run the engine for a bit to get it to temp and then adjust.

Unless you're talking about the RE you have on the bench. Then you adjust it cold, put it in, run it, adjust again. :D

Great build Sam.

Good documentation as well as commentary throughout.

Oh yeah (to jynx): warm the truck up and adjust valves. It does not have to be running hot. ;). Driving it on the highway for 20 minutes will warm it up enough.

It will be hot though while you work on it.

:)

EDIT: Sam's on it. ;)

Pretty sure what Jynx is saying here is that the motor has no way of heating [itself] up. :hhmm:

But Jynx, they are both right; I don't think you can get a proper adjustment without it being at operating temp. I'd think you should just adjust them cold to a little looser than spec, then redo it later once its back up and running.

Yeah, it is sitting in the backyard getting some new parts put on, hasn't been started at all in a couple weeks since I started disassembling it and I was hoping to adjust them before I put it back together. I will just adjust them about .001 loose and then hit them again once I get it back together and can warm it up.

Sorry for the mini hijack there Sam. Now, back to your regular scheduled mini truck build, already in progress.

Man, I've seen them so far out of adjustment that I was surprised they were still running. You just gotta get it good enough and then heat it up and get them correct.

What Sam said.

Treat the 22R series just like 2F.

Heat it up, do the adjustment and maybe go just a smidge tighter....

Just don't adjust them tight. You can burn your valves pretty quick if they are hanging open.

Sam. Have you ordered your Longfields yet?

Nope. I'm gonna roll on the stock axles till I break one.
