Sorry for the mini hijack there Sam. Now, back to your regular scheduled mini truck build, already in progress.
 NICE!

Nope. I'm gonna roll on the stock axles till I break one.
What locker are you running in the front? That will play a big part in how soon/often you break birfs I think.

Just don't adjust them tight. You can burn your valves pretty quick if they are hanging open.

Sam. Have you ordered your Longfields yet?

Should've said slightly tighter...tended to work fine on the ole 2F ...

But I will indeed defer to your expertise. :)

Aussie. I'm sure I will need them but my wallet is still stinging from all the other expenses like the drive shaft... cage... etc... etc...

Speaking of the longs, isn't John still running factory birfs? And that guy that came to the invitational last year said he had been running his for like 5 years (although he broke one right after he got there). I guess it's a crapshoot. They might last forever and I might break one in 5 minutes...

You should be in the same boat as John for at least a while unless your birfs are already well worn. I found a sweet deal not long ago that I didn't think would work for spares for me, so I passed it off to John. Lets just say he will not be breaking birfs anymore. Birfs do exponentially better on crawler rigs with little motors of course, so just be mindful to turn as little as possible any time to have to "get on it" and I bet they'll last a while. You got a couple spares for GSMTR? We've got a few experts at field replacing. :)

I don't have any spares but I know quite a few people that have upgraded to longs so I could probably come up with some. I know Ted is a master but he probably never wants to change another birf as long as he lives.

I have piles of spares that you can have.

I just choose not to spend my trail riding time changing axles.

Haha. I'll take you up on that. I'm not crazy about the idea of changing them on the trail but if I break one on the first day I would. I don't want to be there all week and not wheel!

No joke! I expect you to try out that new cage at least once while you are there :grinpimp:

No thanks. That's the one thing on my truck that I DON'T want to test out.

 I hope he doesn't... Inner cages only protect the contents of the truck. Once you've "tested" an inner cage, the body is usually toast. :frown:

(score one for exo's! :flipoff2:)

 yeah, I don't really want to see him test it, but I just fear a "hey y'all watch this" moment or two could over rule better judgement...

It's usually more me trying to follow Mike and or Brian (stupidly since my truck can't keep up with theirs).

Hey Sam, I'm starting to think he's getting you confused with me.

Not sure I can say much since I am going to putt around on the wagon trails because I am still a nancy about breaking something....

TRUE THAT

You did sorta crunch your rocker last time... You can still follow the big boys and just not go on the hard trails right?

Are there any Tundra trails? :hhmm:

Yeah and I got these to keep that from happening again :grinpimp:

I might get brave and try a few, we shall see. Fortunately my in-laws are down in Farragut just in case.

Only a couple weeks til GSMTR!
