The truck did AWESOME at the shakedown. There were only a few times that I used the double low. It was pretty muddy and slick so momentum was more important on a lot of the trails. Everything functioned really well. I'm still having 2 problems which I believe may be related. It's nearly impossible to get the truck back into 2wd. Also the right side locking hub seems that it won't unlock.
Congrats Sam; glad it held up well. That's too bad that you didn't get to "crawl" much, but gotta play the cards you're dealt.

I could be wrong, but I don't think those two issue are related. I've never dealt with a stuck hub, but all of my Toyota 4wd's have had issues getting back into 2wd. Seems like the more gearing you add, the worse the problem gets (ask me how I know

). For me, I've just gotten used to feathering the clutch, and sometimes hitting reverse, to assist the shift.
I also took the wifey with me and she expressed her concern about me not having a cage. So that just moved to the top of the list. I'm going to see if I can get one before GSMTR but I think it's too late.
If you need to have a cage capable of saving your life, but not necessarily saving the truck, before GSMTR, I think that can be done pretty quick and easy. All you HAVE to have is one hoop over or behind the cab that's tied to the frame and braced well. In a roll, it'll save you, but not the truck. Good enough to be safe and keep

happy. Go back later and add on, or even cut it off and start over - you won't have lost a lot of time or money. Not to volunteer someone else, but I'd bet, if you were at John's with a few helping hands, that simple "roll bar" could be done in an afternoon.
