A little update on the 22RE removal:
Got the motor pulled today. As I was disconnecting everything and talking to one of the techs yesterday, we realized that some very important stuff is actually plugged into the front end harness (fuel injector resistor, MAF, igniter, etc) so it looks like I'll have to take pretty much all the wiring out. There are some things inside that are important as well. The circuit opening relay is inside on the passenger side and the fuse panel that has all the relays and fuses is in the driver side kick panel... This could get interesting. So far I have pulled the trans and transfer, removed the dash, removed the A/C (condenser, lines, evaporator, drier, etc.), pulled the engine, and started removing the wiring.
On to the picters!!!
Looking pretty empty!
The donor heart on ice, waiting to be transplanted into it's new home:
Fuel injector resistor, and fuse panel. Will be needed for transplant.
Igniter and wiring for MAF. Also, needed...
Wiring that goes to the auto trans shifter, 4wd shifter, A/C, and center console. Probably will not need any of it but it's tied into the dash harness and I don't know what circuits are connected sooo........
Fuse panel, relays, ATM control, etc. Will need the fuse panel and a good portion of these bits...
The complete A/C system (minus the compressor). Sadly, not going into my truck. I pulled it for the guys at ACC who will be installing it into a customer's truck.
Working on the dash harness. You have to be super careful on these older cars and trucks. When they stamp the metal parts of the dash the edges are often RAZOR sharp.
There's an ECU connector here. Two plug straight into the engine harness, this one runs to the fuse block under the hood. I'm pretty sure it supplies power to the ECU...
Probably going to need that...
Found this little guy hiding up in the kick panel area... pretty important...
