This is a 1979 FJ40 Project. As you can see in the photos this FJ40 needs restoration. Runs and drives but in it’s current shape I wouldn’t drive it on the road. Does have 5 new tires and wheels. Have clean title in hand. First $7500 gets it.

Interesting truck. Drive flanges on front axle and no side window defrost vents in the dash. Is this a North American market truck?

I had drive flanges on a 79 years ago, they all didn't come with locking hubs.
the side window defrost, I'm not sure about, both my 79's had it.

My '82 has drive flanges so X2 on that, but yeah, interesting on the side vents. Don't see any pics of the frame in the CL ad. Tub wouldn't concern me as much as frame but still looks like a decent deal.

I thought they didn’t rust in AZ ?
I'm thinking carpet glued to rear bed area. The rest of the truck does not have rust that would indicate this truck saw salt, but the remnants of what looks like carpet glue shows on the rear bed.

carpet glue, originally I was thinking it was sprayfoam

FWIW, my '79 came with drive flanges (I added locking hubs but kept them) and no side window defrost vents. "Toyota of Dallas" barely visible on the rear corner.

Gotcha. I actually heard from the seller. The floor is shot both in back and in front. This 40 was used on a ranch it's hole life. They carried salt blocks in back which is way it's so rusted.

Ah, I figured it had to be salt. The story also explains why there's not nearly the amount of rust in the front of the tub.
