Year: 1978
Make: Toyota
Model: Land Cruiser FJ55

I bought this less than a year ago and it has been awesome. Great off road and still does 80 down the freeway. I just got engaged and the fiance needs a safe rig to drive so I am looking to trade or partially trade for an FJ80. The rig is located at the moment in San Carlos, Mexico (4 hours south of Nogales, AZ. Just drove it down there from L.A. in Dec. '06). Can do the business in AZ. Since I have to post a price I'm gonna say $7,000 but like I said I would rather trade for an FJ80. The vehicle hasnt given me any trouble at all. It does need a new clutch but that will be installed before I sell/trade it. There is some rust on the body but it isnt too terrible for a pig. Have a guy lined up to do the body work and paint, but will only be done if I keep it. It has two dents. One above the back left window and 1 very minor ding in the right rear/side.

Mods:
- Chevy 350 v8 mated to a yota 4 speed manuel and a stock tcase
- Power Steering from a Ford Pickup
- Spring over conversion
- Track Bars in the rear
- 4 wheel Disk breaks
- Double bilstein Resevoirs in the front and single in the rear
- 8000lb Winch
- Double Batteries
- 4 35" Pro Comp X-Terrains w/ 60-70% tread
- 1 35" BFG Mud Terrain that has never been mounted 100% tread
- Front Bucket Seats out of a Mustang
- Pioneer CD player
- Custom Rear bumper with 2 Gas cans and C02 carrier and receiver hitch
- Custom Front bumped with winch mounted
- Magnaflow Exhaust

Like I said its a pig so there is some rust. Everything mechanical works great. Probably will need new rear spring within the next year or so. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I hate to let her go but like I said I need a DD Fj80 for the future wife. The vehicle turns heads wherever you go.

The 350 was already installed when i bought the vehicle. I do not know the milage or the donor rig. However it runs very strong. lots of power! burns a lil oil. could probably use a tune-up but runs very strong.

Not to hi-jack but could you post some pics of your power steering set up.

Thanks

I am a commercial fisherman and am in Alaska right now working. But i will contact someone to swing by and snap some shots of the interior, power steering, and the rest of the engine compartment. any other shots anyone want?

Thanks ... AC?

Change your priorities

No it has no AC

Sorry but gotta pass on the 60. Trying to get an 80 for a dd for the fiance

Still working on more pics

What are you looking for in an 80? What colors are ok? What year models are ok? Does it have to have e-lockers? Are high miles ok...ect???

I am open on colors. Does not have to have lockers as it will be a dd for the wife, but if it did have them i wouldnt be crying :) I would prefer a newer year, like 95-97 but am fairly open on that. The less miles the better. The bottom line is that I want a safe vehicle that is in great mechanical condition and in fair-good looking condition. I want to feel good about my wife going out the door in the vehicle and not think its gonna leave her stranded. I am open to a lot of different options with the 80s though.

sorry about the long wait on pics. I put the pig away nicely when i left for work and i am having touble getting someone over there to get it out and take some pics. i promise they are on the way though.
