1977 FJ40
I bought it as the second owner in 1989 for $400
It was just rounding 300,000 mi then
I drove it stock for a year or so
I rebuilt the 2f motor but over compressed it and after 2 head gaskets and lots of swearing, I dove in for the chev. Same motor now as then: 383 stroker with Dart 2 Iron heads and now a new quickflow 650 carb and MSD E curve distributor. Estimate 420 horse. Attached to the stock drivetrain. Spring over axle and Saginaw steering. Rear monte carlo disc brake with proportioning valve. Big Warn winch with controls on the dash. New painless harness. New Boxliner. Aluminum Checkerplate all around capped and trimmed with stainless. 6 point square tube roll cage All 6 points welded to frame. Custom double 3 point traction bars/antiwrap on hine joints on shackles. 3 amp 7 speaker stereo and satellite. Oh yeh, and Gun Rack
