Very cool build, the 4BT sounds sweet. I've been dreaming of doing this same engine swap, keep the pics & progress updates coming

Here are the exhaust and oi pan pics that were requested. With the 4" HFS lift I have 7" clearance from the pan to diff housing. I jacked the passenger side of the axel up to the stop (without the leaf spring installed) and no issues. i got the front clip installed and still need to align everything but I can't get into to big of a hurry because the tires are on backorder till mid-April. 33x10.5R15 BFG KM2's

Here are the latest pics, turbo plumbing, intake, emblems and a million misc. items are done. Plated, registered and insured! I took it for a 30 mile drive with the stock wheels and tires on it still. This thing runs great! The overdrive works flawlessly, trans shifts perfect. The engine was a little underpowered for my tastes so I tweaked the injector pump and what a difference. Wheels and tires should be here in about 2-3 weeks.

No SOA in the plan, I got the engine and drive train where I wanted it last night. I installed the motor mounts on the engine and installed the liquid filled mounts. Got one frame mount built but ran out of steel so hopefully I can post some pics of the engine without the hoist on it! So for I have about 4 inches of the clearance between the pan and the front diff. I plan on installing a 4 in. lift with 33's so that should give me the clearance I need.... I hope. Otherwise I'll have to dream some thing else up. This FJ is only going to be used for light trail use and road use.

The "SOA is horrible for the road" myth is as bad as the "AK47 is not accurate past 25 meters" myth.

A SOA setup will ride a lot better than any spring under lift and as long as you don't drive like a maniac, you won't roll it.

Project looks great though.

Looks good money!! Keep in touch with your Oregon folks. Is that just glossy paint on the black pieces?

Having owned an FJ62 with a 4BT, I can only imagine how powerful a 40 would feel with that engine. Very cool build!

ha ha! I fix my bezel, changed out the headlights this weekend over a few beers. And for soa, won't fit under my shop door.

Sweet build. Now you need a DIESEL badge for the front.

I can't tell from the pics but it looks like the bezel is bolted right to the bib, if so, then you might consider putting some spacers so it doesn't sit right on it as the edge will rub into the paint and will rust eventually. If it is spaced off already then nevermind! Looks great.

What's the best way to space the bezel?
