1976 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser (FJ Land Cruiser)
This is a '76 without a top or doors. It does come with the bikini top and some rear barn doors that I was planning on welding into a tailgate. The suspension is stock springs with longer shackles. Stock wheels with BFG 33x10.5R15 tires with lots of tread left. All the lights work including the gauge cluster. All the gauge dials work and the dash is uncut and 100% intact. Turn signals work as do the wipers. The truck has unique stock options like the rear heater, oil cooler, and carburetor cooling fan. The drive train is all stock except the Holly carb which has a very poor cold weather tune. It takes lots of gas pedal work for a couple miles until it has warmed up. All the badging is on the truck except the driver side fender "Toyota Landcruiser". The center console is not bolted down and can easily come out.
Though I have not ever used it as a daily driver I was driving it a few times a week up through Christmas. With the larger tires it will do 65 mph without much stress. the longest trip I have taken it on is a couple hours each way but it could certainly do a longer trip.
I was trying to assemble the pieces to put a stock carb on the truck but never got around to making a full effort. Engine is stock 2F with 4 speed. Transfer case shifts in and out of gears as it should and the hubs lock in and out as they should.
I have taken pictures of the rust which is on the front driver fender and in the rear corners where it touches the sill. As far as rust goes this is an easy cut and patch job. The floors and much of the rear is in excellent shape. Cruiser was origionally Freeborn Red and has had one repaint in dark blue somewhere back in the day.
My phone number is listed on the criags ad. please call me if interested and leave a message if I was unable to answer.
