Recently purchased taillight assemblies for 5/75 FJ40. Fit fine, but connector is wrong. Is there any direct fit adapter? Or where can I source a female plug to swap out on the wiring side ?

Thanks!

You can purchase new plugs thru Coolerman and remove the terminal ends from the new tail light and adapt them to the new squarish plug. You'll probably have to adapt the new terminal ends too.

You can also contact @ToyotaMatt , he had the connections I needed. Good quality Japanese connectors.

I used a tiny flat screw driver to get them out of the connector, then they just snap into the new plug.

Perfect, exactly what’s needed :) Thanks!

You might consider adding other connectors and color coded wires. I like to stk other stk wiring componets just in case. Especially bullet connectors.

You can also chop off the 50 year old tech and replace with a waterproof auto connector that will out-last you and the truck.
Not original fitment but hey.
Buy the correct crimp tool whatever you do

That’s my suggestion. Did my whole harness with them. Add ground wires while you’re at it.
