First things first......

@Racer65 carb and spacer are on the way as is a Ramflex exhaust gasket. I sure hope I can get the exhaust manifold off in one piece. I usually don't care as I always use headers but I'm feeling the stock manifold on this one.

Any tips for removal without breaking it?

Toyota Reference has question marks on the color code for Rustic Green. Anyone know it?

When I filled the Pig up with non-ethanol I discovered a couple of issues.

One....a vent tube to the plastic dealio in the drivers rear fender was off and spitting fuel.

Two....there is a section of pinhole leaks in the top of the drivers side.

Three.....the fill tube gasket is there but it was not on correctly so the entire fender area was full of dried mud. About 4-5” all the way across the fender, hence the pinholes of rust showing on the outside.

So I chopped it all up and vacuumed it out. My Shopvac has 1 gallon of dirt in it now.

I’m going to wash it with some water and get it to bare metal/rust and treat it with my favorite rust inhibitor and then I will plug the pinholes with liguid metal from the inside and seal it all up nicely.

One step at a time.

Don't worry. When the mud finally eats through your fenders, it will just fall right out. In the meantime, it offers just a bit more crash protection/trail armor.

Funny. Yeah, not going to happen now. I just sealed that cavity up tight. Rust inhibitor is in there thick and Im about to fill on some air holes........

I am trying to decide how I want to seal these fenders up before I put the panels on and move on.

The passenger side had about 1/10th the dirt that the drivers side had.

I’m thinking spray in flex seal.

I got the rear all sealed up with caulk and and blew in a few layers of rubber coating so
The rear should be rust proofed and sealed up good now.

I moved to the exhaust leak and carb.

The intake manifold has a nice pool of gasoline in it so it’s not cracked!!!

Not sure how to visually inspect a exhaust manifold.

Assuming I can get it off without breaking off all the bolts I plan on going back with it. If I mess it up I’ll hack it off and just put a header on.

Will see.

Looks like the leak was between the manifolds. The gasket was in multiple pieces.

I’ll adjust the valves tomorrow after @FJ60Cam sends me that sweet link he used when we did my 60....hopefully tomorrow


I’ll clean it all up and start reinstalling it tomorrow.
