I was having a bad dream about missing appointments so just got up at 5 am with the nagging thought that the vice grips were still on the soft line of the gas tank from the fuel like fix Saturday.

Sure enough.

It’s gonna run pretty good with fuel flowing feely i’d Guess...will see tonight :shaking:

I once did an annual on an aircraft with the special control clips (like vice grips, but different) still holding the controls together from the inspection two years before.

That means not only did the guy two years before forget and leave them on, but the guy who inspected the year before failed to see them. And the aircraft was flown *a lot* in between.

absolutely. Function is worth quite a bit.

however, I was referencing this particular truck. The non-stock wagon wheels that were on this truck added no value, monetary or functionality, over the stock wheels, yet someone paid money to 'reduce' the value of the truck. Just an interesting bit of human activity.

Ah, I see.

I detest decorative wheels as well.

You know those dumb things you do that you hate to admit but since you are among friends you do anyway?

Well, remember the vice grip fuel line deal?

Man.

So I replace the fuel filter again thinking I had a problem (with a clear one) and I was not getting fuel. Climbed under to check my repair hose and damned if I didn’t see vice grip #2

Turns out the others that I thought fell off while I was driving it were there. Just tucked behind the frame.

Well it runs REALLY good now. Of course my neighbor had to tow me home to find this out.

Ugh. What a dope.

New OEM filter from @beno installed and I’m headed for a long ride. I’ll report back later.

Looks so clean in there. Need to get some paint on that air cleaner assembly :)

It’s actually a faded green Patina paint on the air cleaner. I hate to paint it. I’ll let the next guy do it if they want. I like it.

Took it for a ride with its potential new owner. Hope he can make it work. He had one back in his youth and wants to have something to tool around in.

Sure ran good. I’ll regret letting this one go I promise.

Good way to spend retirement time, and money.

Headed out? new adventures await...exciting time.

Well maybe more of a vortec but still technically an LS.
