I'm selling the 40 to fund the purchase of a Pig.

Price: $6,500

I bought this truck about five years ago here in D.C. from a guy who'd just bought it out in Montana and brought it back. Best thing is that this truck starts up first time, every time.

Original 2F – desmogged, odometer reads 11K - probably 211K
Crane Cams Fireball electronic ignition
Pre-73 distributer
Front bucket seats
Rear bench seat – not installed
Extended shackles
32x10.5 Swamper Radial TSLs on 15” black steel rims
Disc front brakes from later year cruiser
Aisin hubs
Sliders bolted to the frame (made by Belowdeck Fabrication)
Later style tube tire carrier
Set-up for dual batteries with isolater and large tray
Line lock on rear brakes
Wooden deck for lockable storage with top off

Work done last four-five years w/ receipts:
new radiator, OEM water pump, OEM hoses
Jim Chenoweth rebuilt carb
Rebuilt rear brakes with OEM cylinders
New OEM oil pan and OEM gasket
New OEM clutch master and slave cylinders

Comes with:
Two hard tops
Soft top – Supertop
Bikini top
Hard doors
Shoulder belts – never installed
Aussie Locker (not installed)

Bad:
Needs knuckle rebuild
Worst rust on rear sill, also bubbles behind front turn signals and on left fender
Rear wheel wells were cut and not all that well
Aftermarket Tach not working – wiring issue not resolved
Wiring somewhat messy (PO wires that seem to go nowhere), but everything works except the driving lights
Holes drilled in rear quarters by p.o. for a hideous tire carrier, not patched

I've wheeled with felix and even swapped trucks with him for a long weekend. This is a great solid 40. Lots of fun to drive and runs great!

Back on the market with a bump for price drop.

Bump.

Price lowered, again.

Felix,

Did you ever convert to front disc?

It had front discs when I got it. I forgot to add that to the original post.

The knuckles out have been swapped with later series cruiser parts to get the discs, plus Aisin hubs.

Don't do it Felix! There's a piggy in ID for $3k with most of the rust repaired, https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-classifieds-corner/266213-1976-fj55-sale.html

Just buy this one and keep the 40, there aren't enough 4x4's in DC, let alone cruisers. On our way to the store sometimes I'd drive down your street just to breathe in some cruiser (not that I was stalking or anything). Or you can move to Utah and be in Cruiser Nirvana :D

Bump for a stand-up guy who takes care of his rig.

bump.

bump. This truck runs great, but I really want a Piggy. Not just any Pig, a particular Pig.

Please buy my truck.
