Am looking for the throttle control cable in the above pix— note the 3 dots/dashes at bottom of knob. Thx. Martin

Well, found a factory new throttle cable; the seller also sold me an original (and new) seat pull handle for my 40. The seller has a ton of cruiser parts, many of them new, but his prices are crazy high, even for CA. I won't tell you how much I paid for both items but I will say they were very, very expensive (as in $$$$). Am quite certain he has a vader light if someone needs one but am also quite certain he would want over $1,000 for one; I bought mine on ebay for $350 as I recall and I was fine with that. later. m

Isn't that a picture of the choke cable knob?
The early throttle cables said throttle on them Iirc...
I could be wrong... :)

agree with the greek

This is a photo of 2nd generation choke knobs below courtesy of @65swb45 ;)

@Martyt "s Diagram out of the owners manual is the correct knob design for a 2nd generation Throttle knob

Take note the 3 White Dots under the Carburetor Butterfly Logo , These represent Atomized Fuel entering the intake manifold

from the Carburetor itself Venturies & the main Throttle shaft being manually Opened , Not the choke butterfly being closed

You will note the distinction between 40 and 55 series: 40 series has the double set of fuel drops and a butterfly at a right angle. 55 series has a single set of drops and a diagonal butterfly.

What about the picture that Martyt enclosed? Is that of a 55 series?

my manual is for a 68-71; the drawings on the manual are pretty rough depictions so I am not sure I would go by that; I do know I have seen pix of 69 FJ40s with the throttle as Mark has described.

single drops

double drops

who would have thought ?

does this mean in KANJI that the FJ40 is a Gas Guzzler over the FJ55 more drops = more fuel consumed o_O

I have that exact cable... Is it worth anything? :)
I pulled this one from my 2 of 69 fj40. So idk about the accuracy of the drops corresponding to the model???
