Got home from work tonight and wanted to make sure I got something done this weekend, so I got a good 3.5 hours in tonight.
There were a bunch of holes in the front doors from some mirrors that wer on there at one time. They had pulled out and stretched the skin quite a bit in a few areas. I had to grind some out and make patches, the small ones I was able to spot weld shut and grind smooth.
After I got the doors welded up and ground down, then I mixed up a little epoxy primer. I sprayed the doors and the door jams on the body from the new latched I had put in.
Had some time so I figured I would tear into those new OEM fenders I got from Cruiserdan. That actually went really good. I was able to use the coolcruiser ones and use those as a template as where to cut into the new ones. I have to admit cutting into brand new OEM fenders kinda made my skin crawl. But, it needed to be done to fit around those motor mounts. All in all, no big deal and fit real nice. I still have to do some clean up around the cut area, but it is where it needs to be.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

how well OEM fenders fit vs those crustycruisers of Texas ones do. If anyone out there is contemplating whether to spend the extra money for the OEM ones, do it!! Everything fit!!! No major pulling or pushing, grinding out holes, hammering, etc..... Everything pretty much lined up. The aprons fit the fender absolutely perfect, where the CCOT ones there were huge gaps. The entire front clip has to come ahead a tad, but I might wait until my body man buddy can take a look at it, it isn't going to need much. Very, Very happy I got those fenders now.
Probably put the door latches back in tomorrow and start grinding spot welds on the roof. I've been not looking forward to grinding those welds, but gotta be done.
