Nice original seats and matching gas tank from same truck, these came out of a california truck so they have some surface rust but are very sound and restorable.Tank is dry,has minor surface rust,no rust through, will need the standard clean out and reseal. I do not want to ship,so local pickup is preferred and can always mudship!$375 for the seats and $300 for the tank. Also have 1963 fj45 doors which are specific to a non removable hardtop without the upper flange, good rust free doors complete, even the bugcatcher weather strip is soft and usable.$250, again no shipping on these.

Alrighty then. Somewhat off the subject. I just noticed that tank has a seam that sticks out the entire horizontal length of the rear side of the tank. Does that interfere with the cab floor in that area in a 45? I thought I tried to fit a mid 70s fj40 tank into my 45 cab that has a similar seam and it interfered?

Tank and seats are sold, might have the doors still, need to check!

this came out of a 45 and I have put 40 tanks in 45's without any issues. The filler neck is the difference between 45 and 40 tanks, by the way this thread is old!

Yes, but you can do a work-around.

Thanks Mark. Whitey already informed me that "this thread is old!" ...so I'll try to make this brief. I was just trying to clarify as he has the tank listed as from a 1965 FJ45. I don't think it will fit in my 1965 FJ45 (without a "work-around" I mean). I have an old FJ40 tank similar (one shown is FJ45) to the one in post #19 of this thread:

Since my tank doesn't have the seam that protrudes it fits nicely. It is an FJ40 version so the filler neck will have to modified etc.

Adam, the tank i sold came out of a 65 fj45 lp, all original? Not sure why it wouldnt fit another 45?

Brian, a STOCK 1965 vintage tank would have vertical seams front and back on the sides of the tank[ not rounded ones], and no standing seam front or rear. And the filler neck for a stock 45 tank does not make a full 90 degree bend.

The fact that it looks old enough to be stock is not conclusive. Case in point. 21 years ago I dismantled a 1964 FJ40 as part of the 'harvest' to build my swb. I had never parted or worked on a 1964 before. I found a factory inspection light plug attached to the side of the radiator core support. It looked like it had been there forever. I not only thought it was cool; I thought it was stock. Since then, I learned that it was not.

Things are not always as they seem.;)

Best

Mark ,

I agree, as i have seen alot of weird things over the years , buy this truck was a one owner rig and i removed the tank and it looked everybit as toyota left it ? No reason to believe it wasnt original, heck poser bought it for his fj45 ? Poser ?
