I got stick on letters from MetricTLC . He has reflective and non-reflective. I went with reflective. He also threw in the "4x4" sticker for free

May i ask you a question for my own education. the 700r4 lockup.. What does that gain and or take away by being able to do that.. I have a 700r4 in my wagon with a toybox.. and if i don't lock it in a gear after reversing it'll fly thru the gears in low.. something like what you did might help with that? and homebrew wiring system or off the shelf..
I used a TCI kit which came with Internal harness which replaces stock harness.
This allows 4th lockup or 2, 3, 4 lockup.
Not sure exactly what you are describing. Maybe you have a high speed stall converter?

In low low toybox and low in xfer if I accidentally leave in drive instead of one or two it shifts fast. Lookin good.sorry for hijack.

Ok, I think that would be pretty normal for it to shift through the gears when in drive. My fj40 with a 4:1 orion and th400 will shift through the gears pretty quick especially on a downhill.

The tc lockup won't change how the trans shifts through the gears. It will lock the tc which stop slippage in the tc. This can help on a downhill for compression braking but you will still have to select the trans gear otherwise it can upshift.

Trying to fix a number of plauging issues. Right turn indicator not working. Not the bulb. Turned out to be it was not making contact with ground at the dash. Scraped some paint from behind the dash and now working. Similar problem with horn not working. Column was not getting grounded. Fixed that. Removed rear bumper to cut holes for backup lights then reinstalled it and hooked up tail lights once again. All working until after running the engine, and I notice the tail lights are on. just the tail and not the front. Headlight switch is off. Key is off. Scratching my head. Both tail lights on. Turn on left blinker and left tail goes off. Turn on right blinker and right tail turns off. again key is off. Really scratching my head. Disconnect the battery and going to bed. Look at It later. Weird...

Found that this was because the hazard switch in the column was halfway between on and off. Cycled the switch and all is working as expected now.

Looks like I have a new front right caliper that's leaking at the seam between the caliper halves. I purchased these quite awhile ago so I'm probably out of luck for a warranty replacement. Have a set of the Hilux/4 Runner v6 calipers I'd like to use instead of the stock fj40 calipers, but the wheels don't clear the v6 calipers. Maybe I'll see what kind of spacers are required to get these to clear...

Lots of extra metal on the calipers. Slight grinding should fix if its minimal

Looks like the caliper leak was from one of the piston seals. One of the seals was hard and pitted. Happen to have a rebuild kit on hand and rebuilt the caliper with new seals. So far seems to have fixed the leak.

I did not use soapy water but that sounds like a good idea (like installing window tint).
I used the squeegee that was included with the stickers and I tried my best to line up each letter along an imaginary line. Then, I slowly removed the backing of the stickers as I applied them so as to remove any air pockets.

For future reference, I used soapy water to do the decals and it worked great, allows precise alignment and easy air pocket removal. Hijack over, More pictures Mike!!!!!

Got the front grill's TOYOTA mounted along with the radiator screen.

Fitting the hood, window frame and top to see if I've got any alignment issues to deal with before the next painting phase. (Plan to paint once the weather warms back up this spring.)

Made a little progress. Have the reverse lights installed and wired. Also got the fan switch and wiring complete. Had to spend some time on the qjet. Must have taken it apart about 10 times before I got the accelerator pump working correctly.
