13B-T rebuild needed

Are the liners your using a finished or semi-finished liner? Had my 13B-T rebuilt a few months ago, work shop said they could only get semi-finished liners. So the new liners have to be honed out before you fit piston. Was this the case for your rebuild?

YEs same as last rebuild we will push the liners in and then hone them.

I cannot get out there for another 2 weeks, this weekend im sick no riverboarding no building no driving , next weekend is TV shoot for riverboarding again so its the weekend after to visit the rawang hospital.

I also need to buy an oil cooler and new gauges (EGT, Water temp, BOOST and OIL temp) and make a POD to stick them in.
 
Pistons, Rings and Liners ordered from SABAH Arrive monday or tuesday.

Looks like it was a squirter failure from the discussion with another mechanic proably the squirter broke off.

I hope to have it rebuilt and back on the road in two weeks along with a host of gauges fitted this time.

The clutch needs to be replaced 100,000K and the GOD winch and the excessive power has taken its toll.

Some pointer to you

1) you install china made piston? Look at fatiqui on bust piston. Why use china piston in tune up engine?
2) bust piston break off oil sqwirter and cause heat
3) excess clutch wear. You have pto? Learn to use pto.

I wondered where you were now I know.

I got quoted about $850 AUD locally here from engines Australia for rebuild kit.

cicak, the squirter is use to cool the piston , so you are probably right . But , just in case, i would suggest to make sure the oil passage through the con-rod is clear, also... it would be good to check the corresponding injector for opening pressure (very bad leaking?) good luck

This rebuild very slow.

REDOCTOBER - Not your rebuild and im too busy being a TV star hahaha at present - an we have never seen a PIC of any of your vehicles and you tell us your a mechanic "CRUSHERS" is a mechanic he tells us and shows us his work sometimes he even teaches us stuff whichwe are gratetful for. I am not a mechanic but I did rebuild RED's engine last time so you can BLAME me and the mechanic and my friend who rebuilt it for its failure . I also will point out you have never made one posative comment in all you massive 10 posts in this forum.

My motto do it right it will be finished i hope by end of month along with the gearbox as it is also now coming out for new syncro's etc. Meantime I await the parts to be sent from SABAH - in case you not realised SABAH (the diesel tuning capital of Malaysia) is almost 2000k away from here (yes 2 hours in a plane) however since we are so backward here and incompetant we don't have planes so parts take a long time to get here by bamboo raft and someone paddling for 2 to 3 weeks.

You can always watch a rebuild on another forum maybe the 80 series forum they always doing 1FZ engines to ISUZU diesels maybe you can convince them to use 1KZ engines and write a document for them on how it will be done possibly longer than one sentence. May be the 24 volt diesel section (its about 10 forums below the 70 series forum :p) it might behefit from your vast 1KZ knowledge and long posts.

To everyone else I like IH8MUD i been here a few years - this guy is off the planet.

other things more imporatant like finishing our equipment shed so prevent the ever continuing thefts by the two legged RATS - FUEL - ATV batteries - Batteries for the 12volt system - TOOLS - unused STeel - we are building 90% of it ourselves at weekends. All my time this year has been spent working on this and taking all our funds.

Building the lofted bedroom (hammocks also hang underneath for a really relaxing room) for the employee before we put the stained MARINE PLY walls up. The "part time" employee also wants to become full time.

Next is to finish the HOT water shower and then the KAYAK HUT so we can put our wetsujits etc in as someone is knicking wetsuit booties and wetsuits then (the tiler went off with 1/2 the shower tiled for a month to another job after we paid him in full - sigh) the entension for the vehciles to be undercover and the INDOOR/OUTDOOR turtle pond with a glass floor for us to sit on top of the pond along with lounge suite/hammocks and relaxing aerea with a big TV which swings out of the wall into my room or the lounger area - Mr RED OCTOBER Hultsy is right with his statement.

This is why we not been doing very few adventure 4x4 trips the hut has to be finished its costing us money not being finished. I agree with your statement.

10 posts and he is a legend already :)
 
Injectors being sent out for inspection dr. Rawang thinks may have an overfueling injector. Head also being checked. New pisyons etc have arrived.

Any update??
 
dropped into the rawang hospital yesterday to pickup the 75 series air filter to take to the Volvo when I realised the doctor was working on my engine.

He said start taking pics.

Then the issue the bearing shells for the crank despite them being standard will not let the crank rotate. We untorqued it redo it and just tap the bearings down only two and then it will not turn again. Inspection of the shells shows they slightly different shape to old ones despite them both being STD and different brands sigh.

Rebuild will continue this week then the gearbox rebuild will start when the engine is started.

Finaly rebuild.

Me would rebuild gearbox before engin start, or you have a big problem.

I see from clutch reson for a gearbox rebuild or you treat like autobox.
 
Why would need to rebuild the box if it was ok? Are you re-using your crank and block from blown motor? Crank may be bent from the sudden stop and block might need line boring of the tunnel. Make sure its sorted properly or you will chew the off bearing out quick smart
