What mods did they do to the turbo? The CT26 turbo is the standard turbo correct? I'm in NZ so would have to find somebody here to do the work on it

Many versions of ct26. Supra 7mgte, 13b-t, etc most mods are to increase flow in and out and spool up faster. We are not experts thats why sending to a reputeable turbo shop cost s lotsa loot. Also fuel pump needs to match fuel needs

I do not believe the guy shares all the mods he does, otherwise he would be out of business and lose all his R&D. Yes the CT26 is the standard turbo, it comes in many different forms though. Graeme (gbentink the turbo builder) ships world wide and i'm pretty sure NZ has a postal service :grinpimp: so no problem getting one.

He has shipped a handful to Canada with no complaints.

I would respect the guy enough to not go spreading around the internals either. I am happy with my dealing with him. You get good performance for what you pay for.

New gauges finally purchased for RED today. EGT, Oil TEmp, Water Temp and Boost. Ended up costing me $1200rm or $360USD. for www.shadowmotor.com.tw gauges.

Will deliver to the hospital Monday night then I guess I will get a status on the gearbox rebuild also.

Binicle is being made next week to house them also.

Ok getting close injectors are being cleaned one is blocked it may be the cause of the engine failure. Pity as they were only cleaned 3 months before the failure.

Due to have been started this after noon.

Crikey just when its ready to be picked up it sounds like an injector has gone. If so next week for collection as new injector has to come from sabah.

We think the bad injector blew the engine now also.

Sigh

Got RED back last tuesday it arrived at work in the tow truck and I put Blue (1KZ) on the tow truck to get new BRAKES and new trailing arm bushes. THe newly rebuilt 13B-T ready I was told to drive it carefully and test it out do not go over 2100rpm and check the noise.

Red was not happy it started tapping noise at 2000rpm. THis morning (Saturday) took out to the workshop and we fixed the Blue 1KZ nightmare up after the Quiet Sg Mas trip last weekend.
1. New trailing arm bushes
2. New leading arm bushes and castor correction also
3. Straightneed steering arm
4. Drained DIFFS (yes they had water in them) and refilled
5. CHanged SUMP (took me 2+ hours to change) as the 1KZ engine in BLUE was from a HIACE and the front PROP shaft had given it more than a FEW WHACKS almost through the sump the damage was quite bad. BE warned anyone who puts in a HIACE 1KZ change the sump or remove the front PROP shaft LOL.
6. Refilled and ready to rock again.
7. After lunch started stripping REDs 13B-T down slowly stripped around the head and fianlly lifted it. BINGO we could see the noise. YEs the valves had touched the pistons on pistons 1 and 4 mainly. WE measured the head gasket and the old one was 1.65mm and the new one was 1.35mm. Monday we will know what we can buy here to provide a solution.
Pictures of the damage

Two of us dismantling the engine.

No offence to you, but thats just bloody sloppy workman ship and i'd be looking for blood. If you get it going for your trip, after the trip I would open the motor up again and give it a good check. That kind of issue can damage over things deeper in the motor, especially since it is a fresh rebuild.

Not looking for blood no blame nothing just getting it running is priority.

I kinda hoping no other damage long term
