Why would need to rebuild the box if it was ok? Are you re-using your crank and block from blown motor? Crank may be bent from the sudden stop and block might need line boring of the tunnel. Make sure its sorted properly or you will chew the off bearing out quick smart

Hultsy we are using a different crank from the spare engine and the conrods

The gearbox was a decision I made based on it being put into RED 5+ years ago and it was never rebuilt and it was second hand from JAPAN so no idea of the K's on it then its always had a SNICK going into 3rd now its getting worse and sometimes has trouble going into 1st unless you double clutch and 2nd so I decided to puill it out and rebuild it now. Since I drive this truck hard it has to be rebuilt. Unfortunately its digging into the Volvo restore funds.

Finaly rebuild.

Me would rebuild gearbox before engin start, or you have a big problem.

I see from clutch reson for a gearbox rebuild or you treat like autobox.

Russian Time for you to find a new home this one is closing its welcome doors.

Russian Considering we have never seen a pic of your "vehicles" i would shut up - you have never seen me drive so also once again I suspect you also have no idea what a GOD winch is or what it will do to a clutch??????????????????????????????????????? 1KZ is a PUSSY engine compared to the grunt of a 13B-T. Does it matter which order its done? No not one bit they both need to go back in and will be put in together.

For everyone else In my own time I will rebuild the engine and gearbox and then possibly DYNO it - maybe I publish the figures maybe not depends who is still in this forum.

Turbo is fine, Valve guides are gone, HEAD Presure test to be done and new guides fitted then it can be installed next saturday along with a 13B-T STEEL head gasket this time - this might help anyone else with a 13B-T - I do not know if parts shop or workshop fault doesn't matter it will be fixed better this time.

As for RED's engine its rebuilt ready to install we waiting now to do the gearbox and it not finished by end of June it will be AUgust as Rawang doctor is booked whole of July for a contract.

Damn thought you had found a new forum for you since you are such arse no for the others yes there will be an update depending when the rawang hospital gives me an update this week the gearbox stripped yesterday.

Was at the rawang hospital tonight picked up blue with its newly repaired radiator.

Good doctor showed me what is needed on reds gearbox oops new second and possibly third. All bearings to be replaced and one shaft worn out. 14b-t clutch plate to be fitted. 2 weeks maybe before it terrorises those little tin tops again.

First I gotta take the new gauges out for the senders to be fitted to the turbo , block and engine sump before the rebuilt engine is fitted.

Hey guys, I have been crawling around the forum for a few days looking for info on safe/ recommended boost limits for my newly acquired 13BT powered BJ74. I'm currently painting it, and installing a front mount intercooler, EGT gauge and a few other bits. But I don't want to cook it.

I normally run 20-25psi in mine, have run 30psi briefly, but need a bigger fuel pump first. Using a Gturbo modded CT26 and small intercooler. On my "standard" turbo I ran 19psi, but it was laggggyy (note that it had a heavier than standard compressor wheel)

Cheers. That's a good starting point. Think I will aim for 17 -19 and see how it goes :) hope the lag isn't too unbearable to put up with for a bit whist I rebuild some funds

What mods did they do to the turbo? The CT26 turbo is the standard turbo correct? I'm in NZ so would have to find somebody here to do the work on it
