Hi all,
Are there any suggestions to replace the custom sound system with a better one? I have an Alpine head unit, I want to replace the custom speakers on the doors, amplifier, and subwoofer (not functioning at all). I want to install something in the same size but slightly better. Currently sound quality is awful.

you can either get a 5 channel amp or ditch the sub idea (save money) and run new speakers off the alpine head unit. It should power 50w per channel pending model and modern Ohms as well. Unlike the factory speakers are 8ohms or somthing.

I put 6.5" polk componants w/ tweeters up front and standard 6.5 rear speaker. Had to made MDF adapters. use the factory plastic as outline trace. Careful not to short the tweeters to the bare metal when mounting. I used double sided tape to insulate and wedged them in there.

I replaced the door speakers in mine with some budget friendly Alpine and JBLs. It's been many years since I installed them but I don't recall having to do any custom fab to make them fit.

Last year I finally got around to addressing the sub. Deleted the dual 4" sub and stuck in a Kicker 46CXA400 amp, running the sub speaker wires through the nearby cupholder to a Skar K8TBV. I've been a happy camper since then.

I installed a Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay. JBL component speakers in front doors, coaxials in rear. Stock subwoofer but had to refoam it.

Do you have a picture of what the new head unit looks like ? I am considering replacing mine too.
